I’m sure that state will need experienced and armed citizens for its defenses!

Isn’t Shiloh Arms up there - the people who make semi-custom Sharpes Rifles?

“I am not aware of any real blue steel weapons foundries in Montana. Please correct me if I am wrong.”

That could change now.

You’ve obviously never heard of Flathead Lake or the Fort Peck Reservoir. Both of which have boat harbors and beaches and prime real estate value.

Important Points - If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines.

Whoever wrote this doesn't understand how the Interstate Commerce clause of the Constitution has been (mis)interpreted by the courts. That interpretation reflects the view that by the simple act of manufacturing guns and ammunition in Montana that is not sold outside Montana still affects interstate commerce since fewer guns and ammo will be imported into Montana as a result. That will affect the sale and transport of guns and ammunition in the other 49 states. Sound convoluted? It is convoluted but it is also "the law".

Thanks for the link to that case. I was hazy on it.

Did you read Levin’s book? GREAT read. He has a new one out now.

Mark Levin is a rock solid pro-military, pro-American strict constructionist.

Might change the voting demographics in this state if they lure the gun industry there and its ancillaries.

I prefer to think of it as not using the code trigger word you corrected him on....we’d all better start thinking of new and different ways to say the same things.

“In July 1940, pursuant to the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938, Filburn’s 1941 allotment was established at 11.1 acres (45,000 m2) and a normal yield of 20.1 bushels of wheat per acre. Filburn was given notice of the allotment in July 1940 before the Fall planting of his 1941 crop of wheat, and again in July 1941, before it was harvested. Despite these notices Filburn planted 23 acres (93,000 m2) and harvested 239 bushels from his 11.9 acres (48,000 m2) of excess area.[1]”

The government punished him for being more competitive. I’m sure Obama would have approved.

The Bill of Rights (first 10 amendments) was ratified effective December 15, 1791.

The Second Amendment says “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” It doesn’t say the opposite. It doesn’t say, “except if socialists oppose this amendment.” It doesn’t say, “unless Congress or a federal judge disagree”.

The founders saw fit to spell out this right in the Second Amendment, so obviously it was in the front of their brains..... a priority. Every dictator in history has stripped the citizens of their weapons, for obvious reasons. The founders knew a great deal about tyranny. They knew that citizens must have weapons with which to defend themselves against the tyranny of King George III, and they wisely foresaw Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Saddam Hussein, the Kims of North Korea, FDR, and Obama.

No, I can’t get him on the radio up here so I am not very familiar with him. I’ll have to see if my library has the book.

Can’t have everything. I’m not expecting California or Hawaii to secede anytime soon.

I’m moving to the first state that secedes.

I'm getting so sick of the current situation that I've seriously considered the same thing.
