Another comic great has died. Dom DeLuise passed away at a Los Angeles hospital around 6:00 PM Monday, reports TMZ.
A film and TV staple since the mid-1960's, DeLuise was an expert foil for other performers, including Dean Martin, Mel Brooks (in six of his films) and Burt Reynolds, with whom he starred in the "Cannonball Run" flicks. In 1980, he played the lead in "Fatso," a film written and directed by Anne Bancroft, the late wife of Mel Brooks.
A noted gourmand, DeLuise authored two books of his Italian recipes, and wrote several children's books. He voiced numerous characters in animated films and television.
DeLuise is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Arthur, three sons, Peter, Michael and David, and three grandchildren.
I loved “The End” but haven’t been able to find it to rent. Wasn’t that the movie where Candice Bergen was Burt’s ex and she is a horrible singer?
The Twelve Chairs was one of Brooks’ funniest movies.
That was “Starting Over.”
A funny, crazy man.
Watch later. He was a funny man. Back when funny was humor not the vile garbage 99% of so-called comedians produce.
You are right. Both those movies were pretty good. “The End” is where Burt swam out into the ocean to drown and then decided he really wanted to live, and his promises to God diminshed as he got closer to the beach. Too funny!
Yep, Burt made some great movies back then, I won’t even hold it against him that he’s an FSU grad.
Pleassseee.... save it till the end....
Prayer to his family. Gosh it is like everyone I remember on TV from my childhood are rapidly existing. Guess that means I’m getting old. YIKES!

Dom in Hot Stuff...one of the classic moments of all time
<Im getting ready to ride the pale horse, myself.
Jebus, that’s a depressing thought.
Though I must admit to saying things to my son like, “You’ll miss me when I’m gone” and telling him where all my important papers are. One has to be realistic, but not depressed!
RIP, Dom. You were a great comic and I will always have fond memories...
<Now hes dancing with Gilda in heaven.
Priceless! I hadn’t seen that before.
I think of Gilda often, probably because I have to say “nevermind’ so much!
***I loved The End but havent been able to find it to rent. Wasnt that the movie where Candice Bergen was Burts ex and she is a horrible singer?***
Sally Fields was in THE END. She was such a sloppy housekeeper that when Burt threatened to blow his brains all over the wall he said..” but then with these walls who would notice.” When Sally got him a drink of water in a jelly gar he said..”Ah you are supposed to wash the jelly out of the glass first!”
Then Burt and Dom in the asylum attempting suicide... WOW!
Dont forget the scene with corset and his "sock".
Dun, Dun, dahhh...Captain Chaos! RIP Dom..
