Eminem Almost Died of a Methadone Overdose
Javno ^ | May 05, 2009 | Bangshowbiz

Posted on 05/05/2009 7:38:25 AM PDT by SolidWood

He said: "My doctor told me those mysterious new pills were methadone, which is used to wean heroin addicts off dope. Had I known it was methadone, I probably wouldn't have taken it. But as bad as I was back then, I can't even say 100 per cent for sure.

“My doctor told me the amount of methadone I'd taken was equivalent to shooting up four bags of heroin. Even when they told me I almost died, it didn't click."

The 36-year-old hip-hop star admits his substance abuse addiction had spiralled out of control by then.

He added to Vibe magazine: "It's no secret I had a drug problem. If I was to give you a number of Vicodin I would actually take in a day? Anywhere between 10 to 20. Valium, Ambien, the numbers got so high I don't even know what I was taking. I started looking around my house to see if I had a stash box of Vicodin. I'm ransacking my house, finally find something in the basement, in a little napkin, seven and a half Vicodin - the big extra strength ones - and a few Valium."

My M&Ms contain methadone? No wonder I eat 3 pounds of them a day.

I don’t think enema is much of an “artist” to start with, but as a human being, I hope he really wakes up and smells the coffee. Sadly, even money says he’ll be back on the pills before the summer ends.

I’m just wondering... Is he talentless because he’s a hip hop artist? I mean, do you think that anyone in hip hop is talentless because hip hop requires no talent?

The American "black culture" is toxic.. poisonous in several/many ways..
RAP being one of them..

RAP is NOT music.. but propaganda for black culture..
His first mistake was swallowing RAP, his second mistake was swallowing all/most that came with black culture..

I simply do not care what happens to Eminem and every single other so called “rapper”.

I think we all have other much more important things to worry about.

Actually, I don’t care if all the so called “celebrities” in the world drop dead tomorrow morning.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I think of Dennis Leary’s rant about drugs, and just substitute Eminem here for Motley Crue:

And I’ll tell you something else right now. I have the solution to the drug problem in this country. Nobody wants to hear it, but I have it. Not less drugs, more drugs. Get more drugs, and give ‘em the right people. Mmm mm, cuz every time you hear about some famous guy overdosing on drugs, it’s always some really talented guy. It’s always like Len Bias, or Janis Joplin, or Jimi Hendrix, or John Belushi. You know what I mean!? The people you wanna have overdose on drugs never would! Like Motley Crue would never overdose man, never! You could put them in a room with two tons of crack. They come out a half an hour later, “Rock on man!” “S—t, they’re still alive. F-—! They’re probly gonna make another double-live album now....”

Excactly why I posted this. These creeps poison our culture and youth.

Posting about them reaping the fruits of their own seed, does not mean that I am "worried for him".

Who cares? You do drugs, you eventually pay with your life.

"do you think that anyone in hip hop is talentless because hip hop requires no talent?

Absolutely. A Captain Obvious is in order for this topic.

All that is needed in Hip-hop is to sway back and forth like a monkey while reciting vulgar "poetry" to a ripped off sample beat.

I suppose the question should be directed towards you instead.

Do you think Hip-Hop harbors talent?

I had a hunch about the article and followed the link

turns out my suspicions were dead on from the link : " ... Following a three-year-break from recording material, Eminem is thrilled to be back with his new LP ‘Relapse’ ... ‘Relapse’ is due for release in the US on May 19." turns out the "shock" of the Palin wanna be lookalike in his new video wasn't enough to generate interest in this young mans "art" if he was a female this story would have been about supressed lesbianism

It isn't black culture. It's urban bastard (in the literal sense) underclass culture. And it knows no color boundaries.

Popularity among suburban kids with silver spoons in their mouths suggests it knows no bastard or underclass boundaries either. That's the depressing part.

You’re confusing methadone with methamphetamine. Methadone is an opiate. Methamphetamines are a stimultant. Both are really bad for you. Heroine addicts don’t know what “dope sick” really is until they try to come off of methadone. The withdrawls are longer and worse than heroin.
