Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney joked about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins place on Times list of influential people, saying, But was that the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?
In an interview on CNNs State of the Union broadcast Sunday, Romney was responding to a question from the moderator as to whether Times inclusion of Palin and talk show host Rush Limbaugh on their list of The Worlds Most Influential People was a positive or negative thing for the Republican Party.
Romney added, I think there are a lot more influential Republicans than that would suggest.
After his boss caught flak for his apparent dissing of Palin, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom spun the comment as just a self-deprecating joke as to why there werent more Republicans on the list, according to a report in Politico.
I think there are 100 influential Republicans alone who have tremendous ideas and I hope that we can all work together to accomplish what we believe is best for America, Palin said through a spokeswoman.

In the latest instance of a high-profile GOP member taking a passing swipe at the party's 2008 vice presidential candidate, former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney jokingly dismissed Sarah Palins inclusion on Times list of influential people in an interview broadcast Sunday.
He asked, was the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?

NewsMax is not the only source who is interperating this as a dig.
No, Mitt. I’m sorry to say this, but that’s just you.
Yeah, she made some off-the-cuff gaffes during the campaign that made it appear that she had not thought things through completely.
I hope she clarifies her stances and then articulates them well over the next couple of years.
The other Sphincter just joined the democrats.
It wasn’t the “compliment to her beauty” that bothers people. It was his implication that he believed she belonged on the most beautiful list, but not the most influential, that was so tasteless.
If Mitt had joked that she belonged on both lists, nobody would mind.
Oops, sorry, I never use spell check ;-)
I don't what the atmosphere is on the planet that you live on but Mitt never stopped running, he is campaigning harder than anyone else at this time.
Romney the gun-grabbing liberal can KMA.
Reading is not your strong suit? The post I replied to mentioned Mormons. For the record.
I opposed Romney. I still do. But to oppose him for an imagined jab at Palin that he did not make is just silly.
Well, so sorry if we “alienate” the handful of Mitt voters here.
Where Mitt really failed to even try to in the gap was his reaction to hearing the Masshole Supremes saying there oughtta be a law for gay marriage. He not only didn’t wait for the legislature to do something, he took it on himself to bastardize the process. Now ask anyone at Mass Resistance and we see what the consequences in the Masshole schools have been. Hint: it’s much worse than “King and King.”
He'll never get into the temple that way.
What a slacker!
Excellent point.

No, nitwit, and I didn’t go for Romney, but stop and think before you speak.
I’m sure the Bots such as Illogical Me can’t be too happy...
I did. I called it a purse fight. Which seems about right.
“Palin aimin’ at a RINO”
