You and I are very much on the same page. I appreciate your reasoned, thoughtful discussions of these issues. There needs to be more of that on FreeRepublic.
I don’t like that the GOP has moved left and that when in power moderates back down from principles. Seems like the squeaky wheel gets the grease and libs are always whining about something even when they are in power.
I am conservative and pray that the GOP’s leaders like Eric Cantor, Sarah Palin, Mark Sandford and a small group of others who will follow conservative principles and not back down from libs and moderates from the GOP will take this party forward in 2010 and 2012 elections. The country is thirsting for conservative values and principles.

Let’s hope and pray this it true! As a way to act on these prayers, let’s support conservatives everywhere we can, and if GOP RINOs refuse to hear our valid concerns, let us RUN AGAINST THEM as independents and in other parties - like the AIP. We can and must use a Both/And strategy of pressing inside and outside the R party to drive the Conservative cause forward. Go Tea Parties! Go protestors in front of the socialists’ offices (Chris Dodd protest), et al.
Thank you for your response. I too long for a return to wholesome party goals.
