The American Left attempts a bloodless coup

The American Left attempts a bloodless coup Sandy Rios - Guest Columnist - 4/29/2009 8:45:00

Totalitarian movements have always destroyed their enemies. Peter the Great of Russia murdered members of the Streltsy military corps by taking the ax of the executioner to cut off their heads one by one himself. The Bolsheviks murdered the last Russian Czar—along with his wife and family—by telling them they were going to have their picture made. As they smiled into the camera, they were shot, buried and had acid poured over their remains.

Stalin continued the blood bath of the Russian Revolution by murdering thousands of his own who didn't agree with Marxism. The Nazis had their gas chambers, not just for Jews, but also for dissenters. Fidel Castro turned his popularity into tyranny and brave Cubans gave their lives trying to free their beloved island. The Khmer Rouge in Cambodia tortured and murdered the intelligentsia in the S21, the regular folk in the Killing Fields. The slightest lack of support for Pol Pot and the new regime earned one a place in a mass grave.

There was a dreadful logic in all of this: By killing the opposition, you eliminated any possibility of future resistance, and you eradicated any personality who could possibly remind or rally future generations to any other way of thinking. Power was—at least for a time—absolute in each situation.

But times have changed and so have strategies. Saul Alinsky, radical of the '60s, author of "Rules for Radicals" who was all about taking power, suggested that you target your opposition, make it personal and destroy him. Recent decades have seen this play out in the demonization and ruination of a host of people. They weren't killed, but they were in essence destroyed so that no one in the mainstream culture would ever again listen to or heed their advice. Richard Nixon...Oliver North...Clarence Thomas...Dick Cheney...Tom DeLay...George W. Bush...Sarah Palin.

Have Americans stopped to think that these destroyed people are all on the political right? Have they noticed that Bill Clinton and Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank still walk among us, exercising influence, with whatever reputations they have in tact?

"Dare them to try something like killing 5 million free Americans. They could never win such a confrontation so it won’t even happen if we march into washington with the biggest “tea party” theyve ever seen in their worst nightmares."

Repeating for emphasis. Right on, right on, right on...

Actually, im trying not to be so wordy these days. So in short form, the military is incredibly poorly structured to attack America itself. And call me naive, but i think at the moment of truth, 98% of our military would make you very proud. They are our children, and they won’t forget that fact. They will never be like NAZIs.

“I truly believe our Army and Marines need not be feared by any American.”

I tend to agree with that and believe that this Marxist will keep our current military occupied and perhaps, worse case scenerio, decommission them while they are on foreign soil with no ticket home. And in the meantime, he’s built his ‘National Civil “Security” force’ funding them on a scale equal to the US military and membership consisting of likes we’ve never seen......those willing to turn on their fellow American, because of some ‘slight’ they felt at one time or still feel.

It’s not going to be a good ending in any direction. I apologize for all the posting...But the writing is on the wall and sharing with like-minded individuals is the only way I’m personally able to maintain.

The "Untied States of America" will turn out to have become a paper tiger, and the new nation that will arise from the wreckage will be pledged to the Declaration of Independence, and the US Constitution as originally written, without all the penumbras and permutations.

Ah! You've noticed a weakness of Obama's rule. Mind you, he did make clear he would "rule", not "serve". But if Obama/Soros's ultimate goal is to break the power of the USA, they still have a chance of victory. Successor states may be much less influential on the world scene than the USA is at this moment.

The counter argument to the last is that US power is going to be eviscerated anyway with the trillion dollar national debt increases.

Thats great, hadnt even heard! I would really like that. Again, i can’t tell you guys enough how good the last one felt to me. I always knew in in my mind, but finally my heart also felt like i wasnt alone in my thoughts that the Govt has gone WAY too far in its size and scope.

I know Obama hates capitalist analogies, but it’s long past time the board of directors of this government, heard from us shareholders.

I’m not speaking of our current military....just to clarify. Please see previous post. Frankly, I swell with pride when I run into these fine young Warriors. The National Guard had a convoy that went by my office the other day while I was outside smoking a cigarette and Honest to God, I got choked with pride as each Hummer went by each of them waving to me (I felt like saluting)!

Now i think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. We need to be very vigilant about anything he does to weaken and abandon our military, and even more so about any “Obama force” he tries to create. A domestic force is a bright line they must not cross.

That will be the ones that turn on us.

I would really like that. Again, i can’t tell you guys enough how good the last one felt to me.

Then the protest this September will likely have you popping buttons on your chest with pride and solidarity. There are probably going to be over a million pissed off patriots there.

“Can you finish the story of what happened to your brother?”

After making a couple of calls I managed to get a bailbondsman there to get him out. They were asking $2500 bail and if a regular citizen or relative goes to bail out someone they must pay the entire amount. BB’s can do it for 10%

He has since hired a former county prosecuter to represent him in this and as I said the charges are still ‘cloudy’. Court is later this month. Failure to appear was all that was told to him and he NEVER received a summons or anything and he’s quite well known so it’s not like the police couldn’t have picked him up at anytime.

On a sidenote: while they were ‘booking’ him they asked him what religion he is.

That got very little attention from the old media. It scared me when I first heard him say it - still does. It will consist of our children as it’s mandatory - will that be the line they’ll cross...

per the American Thinker he also plans to double the Peace Corps’ budget by 2011, expand AmeriCorps, USA Freedom Corps, VISTA, YouthBuild Program, and the Senior Corps. He also plans to form a Classroom Corps, Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, Veterans Corps, Homeland Security Corps, Global Energy Corps, and a Green Jobs Corps. Money is no obstacle for The One.

Here a corps - there a corps - everywhere a corps corps.

“Saul Alinsky ,Yes dear old Saul The point he missed is dealing with Armed opposition the final chapters have yet to be written.”

I’m not sure about that as his - civilian national security force - will be just as well funded as our military and even worse they’ll consist of our children. How can one oppose them with armed opposition?

.........Nobody really knows where it is,.......

That is a correct statement. However it can be qualified.

I attended a Tea Party, not so much as a protester but as an observer. I handed out invitations to join us at FRee Republic. I wanted to get the feel of the event and wandered around all through the crowd.

I was extremely surprised at what was there. Not 150 or 200 people I expected, but at least 1,500, maybe more. I was surprised at all the flags and flag waving. Not the Stars and Stripes but the rattlesnake on a yellow field. There big ones being waved and smaller ones on signs and T shirts and Sweat shirts and jackets.

This was typical

and this....

Many of the people may have drawn that line pretty close up

That’s horrific about your brother and what does religion have to do with anything. Why on earth would they ask that...

Yes, I noticed that from the pictures I’ve seen. I attended the one in NYC and they had one or two which was a shock to say the least. It’s been lonely in NY being a conservative but there was a larger crowd than I expected. I met a few Democrats who are also fed up with Obama. The crowd is growing and they’re not all Republicans.
