Two headlines from Paki newspaper show disarray of Obama policy towards Pakistan (Vanity)

This would be hilarious if not so serious. On the main page of DAWN, Pakistans largest english speaking newspaper appear these two stories which are totally at odds with each other.

On the one hand you have the special ' envoy' to Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. telling the Pakis that media reports about regime change are 'rubbish'.

Two stories down, you have the story about Obama reaching out to Sharif because they are concerned about the survival of the gov't.

Talk about speaking out of both sides of your mouth! Obama is being shown the naive amateur he is, but this is a deadly serious situation, with the future of Pakistans nuclear arsenal at stake.

President Zardari is corrupt, there is no doubt about that. Sharif on the other hand, is probably just as corrupt, but he is also an Islamist, who was in charge when Pakistan developed what he called the 'Islamic' bomb.

Scary times demand steady leadership, instead we have Obama, who wants to talk out both sides of his mouth and whose meddling in internal Pakistani politics will only make matters worse.

If he wants to support something, support an army coup, at least the nukes would be safe and the army could deal with the Islamists as they saw fit.

Jimmy Carter redux. Jimmy brought down the Shah and “reached out” to Khomeni in Iran. Result, we have the mess today in Iran.

The big difference is, India is not going to put up with a Islamist, terrorist state on its border. That is going to put the US and India badly at odds. Or, I should say it’s going to put the administration and India badly at odds. Most of the actual US will support whatever India does to resolve the situation.

Don’t know what the appeaser in chief is going to do when he puts an Islamist in power in pakistan and then the grateful new gvt cuts off overflight rights to supply our troops in Afghanistan. I guess he’ll go on another apology tour. Or just pay them another billion or so to pretend they aren’t terrorists for a month or two.

Obama doesnt know what the hell he is doing, so how can the journalists report he does.

Obama himself doesnt know what he ids doing in pakistan, he is throwing out stuff to see where it sticks.Guessing, operating in the dark. If we want to help Obama decide we need a poll. Yes: Thats it, run a poll.
