This is about hysteria. This current world episode of swine flu is about mass hysteria. And, actually, it is deeper than that. It is about tyranny, and the artificially created opportunity of tyrannists like Barry Soetoro (a.k.a. Barack Hussein Obama) to assert their loving control over everyone and everything.
Flu is flu. Thousands of children and elderly die of flu every year, everywhere. (And those figures are hotly disputed, some saying the figures are much less.) But our current pig bug has been made into mass hysteria, in order that the tyrannists of the world may show their stuff, or, strut their powers. Of course, its all in the name of saving humanity, just like global warming (now changed to climate change since scientists have proven the globe is not warming). Its always about saving humanity. (Interestingly, even the Book of Mormon identified the character of Satan himself as one competing for the role of saving humanity. Moses 4:1-4.)
Nearly 160 years ago, Charles Mackay wrote a book called Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds (London, 1841). Dominated by financial speculation schemes, the book also includes modern sooth-saying, healing remedies, and numerous superstitions gripping masses of that era. Mackay even notes hysterias peculiar to large centers of population (cities). Hysteria is just something people do, for one reason or another. It is the collective thrill, the ultimate group feel. (No thinking involved, so its not group think.)

No Stephan King novel going on. Nope. Just hysteria.
I think we should call it the Obama flu....
At the moment no one is sure whether he or she should panic or not panic.
Here in Dallas the mayfest has been canceled due to this madness.
Millions of revenue will be lost.
Today, in Ft worth they are talking of canceling church services.
It’s flippin crazy.
And you can see us on various forums making fun of the gullible who continued to bite on this one even after they admitted only five of the previously reported deaths had been from swine flue after all. It seems you really can fool some of the people all of the time.
And the preventive action for the future, so that the poor immigrants have better health care and there’s a Tamiflu shot in every garage: Ta-da! “Universal health care” a.k.a. socialized medicine. Just waiting for president Beeblebrox to propose this.

Yep, it sure is. I've noticed people walking around in the grocery stores wearing those surgical-type filter masks. Think I'll go break out an old Israeli military surplus gas mask and make 'em really wet their pants. < evil laugh >.
People at my office were asking whether the company would be making any of those masks available for them to wear while in the office space. Fortunately, the office manager has a great poker face and didn't laugh right in front of them. I can just imagine the conference calls - everyone would sound like Charlie Brown's teacher.
After the 2008 elections, this stuff really adds bold print and underline to the word "sheeple".
It aint Cpt Trips.
Kenyan flu, perhaps?
It’s spelled “pooh-pooh.” Poo poo is ka-ka.
This is about distracting people from the truly fugly economic numbers that will be coming out in a couple of weeks.
Disasterous.
What better than to have a panic.
*Of course, number two panic if this doesn’t pan out is the Taliban getting nukes.
Don’t panic........... plan.
‘The Hussein Flu’
I like that.
Bingo. This is like having a hurricane stalled in the gulf. May go south, may go north, but you have to plan and act with imperfect knowledge. Weigh the cost of being wrong either way, then decide.
By the way, its not the mortality that will get us, it is the absenteeism due to sickness, family sickness, or the worried well (~40%).

Only a person totally blind to the tactics of the left would think it was really an epidemic.
That does not mean that ONLY 7 have died.
