SOUTH BEND Anti-abortion activist Randall Terry was arrested at about 12:20 p.m. Friday on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
He was part of a demonstration against President Barack Obamas upcoming appearance at the Catholic university. The protest involved baby carriages holding dolls covered in fake blood.
Terry, who has promised to protest until Obamas May 17 scheduled appearance, had been issued a no trespass order by Notre Dame.
Security personnel placed Terry into a vehicle and drove him away.

This was done for the publicity, of course.
This will make the news, and this will get even more people to turn out in protest.
On the right, NOBODY knows how to generate a large crowd better than Terry.

The murdered is accepted with open arms.
The protester is carried away.

Every action taken by Fr. Judas Jenkins to suppress dissent will look very heavy handed and un-Catholic. Hopefully this will be another nail in the coffin that holds Fr. Jenkins career and tenure at Notre Dame.

I want someone out there to dig up some LEFTY protest history, at ND!
How did the Dear Father Jenkins deal with anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-military protests on campus?
Where any of THEM ever given “orders” not to “trespass” on University Property?
Where any of the lefty protesters hauled away by the police?

Yep. He’s more concerned about his publicity than actual success of his supporters’ goal. :-(

I must admit, acting like Liberals is no way to advance your cause.

What outsiders declared their intent of going onto campus to protest? I haven’t found the example you’re thinking of.

I must admit, acting like Liberals is no way to advance your cause. Randall Terry is Randall Terry's cause, and acting like a Liberal is quite in line with it.

Terry, who has promised to protest until Obamas May 17 scheduled appearance, had been issued a no trespass order by Notre Dame. This strikes me as very stupid on Notre Dame's part. What, a university shutting down free speech and refusing to allow a peaceful protestor to appear on campus?
Randal Terry certainly has perfected the art of being irritating, but would the administration at Notre Dame do this to a leftist protestor, simply for setting foot on campus? I think not.

The two go together.
I think publicity is what we need.
ND officials need to be embarrassed right now.
There is no “quiet” way to reform the ND leaders responsible for this mess.

What “outsiders” were asked to leave, once they GOT to ND?
I have no respect for any “University” that does not protect the First Amendment rights of EVERYONE!

This is a “Catholic” University.
The leaders of ND must be punished.
Terry is wrong sometimes, but his tactics are NECESSARY this time.

EXACTLY!
Did not Judas Jenkins tell us that bringing Obama to campus would, somehow, encourage DEBATE on life issues?
Now the cowards at ND SHUT DOWN any debate at all!

Actually, you are wrong on that point.
The political right needs its street protesters too.
