This man whom many called a stealth candidate, allegedly getting in under the radar screen because of his manner but one of us secretly as some of my colleagues back then insisted, was anything but Pro-Life. He voted to uphold Roe in Panned Parenthood v Casey (1992)... He helped to author these deadly words:
Liberty finds no refuge in a jurisprudence of doubt. Yet, 19 years after our holding that the Constitution protects a womans right to terminate her pregnancy in its early stages, Roe v. Wade (1973), that definition of liberty is still questioned. We are led to conclude this: the essential holding of Roe v. Wade should be retained and once again reaffirmed, in three parts: 1.The right of the woman to choose to have an abortion before viability. 2. The State may restrict abortions after fetal viability if the law contains exceptions for pregnancies which endanger the womans health. 3. The State has legitimate interests from the outset of the pregnancy in protecting the health of the woman and the life of the fetus that may become a child.
In the last Presidential campaign I was one of many who beat the drum of caution that one of the most important concerns in the selection of the 47th President of the United States was that he or she would shape a new Supreme Court. Depending on its make up, such a Court could finally jettison the Court created right to take the innocent human life of our first neighbors in the womb or expand it. I insisted that we should do all we can to elect someone who would appoint members to the Court who would restore the true Right, the pre-eminent Right to Life, written in the Natural Law and recognized by the American founders.

Whomeever it is can’t be worse than Norman Bates Souter.
It won’t change the line-up.
I can’t think of one decision by Souter, or one he was a majority on, that conservatives loved.
In that last eminent domain case, he showed complete disdain for the Constitution and supreme abdication to whatever pleased “the elected government”. Who in the hell did he think the Bill Of Rights was intended to restrict the powers of - ole King George.
Thank 50+% of (faux) “Catholics” who voted for Obama and good “Catholic” schools like Notre Dame who love abortionists.
The Holy Father needs to smack down the liberal American Catholic Church that is loves Obama and illegals.
Not so fast. I used to think that Bubba Klinton was the manchurian candidate POTUS and we would never see a more treasonous occupant in the White House - I was wrong.
At most we’ll trade this closeted homosexual for an open homosexual.
Actually, I expect to see an Angry Black Women (TM) be appointed.
I think you win the sweepstakes!
It is not going to make one bit of difference. I cannot remember the last night that Souter voted with Thomas and Scalia. He will be replacing a liberal with a liberal so it is NOT the Obama Court.
The front runner is Elana Kagan — an “out” lesbian. I think that’s a difference.
“At most well trade this closeted homosexual for an open homosexual.”
Bingo. That was exactly my first reaction. And we were right. Elana Kagan, “out” lesbian, is the front runner. Knowingly putting deviants in a position to dictate to the rest of us is a crime.
Her melanin content is low.
But repeated rumors are that Obama likes to sample the homo side of the street, too, so perhaps queer trumps black.
Obama does seem fond of Angry Black Women. He married one, after all. :)
47th President of the United States? That could be 24 years from now if the 44th, 45th, and 46th each serve 8 years.
