The Baltimore Sun has laid off 61 people in its newsroom, about a quarter of its editorial staff, including veteran editors and managers, columnists, photographers and designers.
Maryland's largest newspaper laid off managerial employees at the end of the day Tuesday, and notified union-represented employees Wednesday afternoon...
Tribune is operating under bankruptcy protection. Real estate mogul Sam Zell took on a $13 billion debt load when he purchased the company in 2007

What the hell was Sam Zell thinking when he took this on in the first place?
He has shown no original thinking or new ideas. Was this just the last of the prestige buys?
Dinosaur Media DeathWatch ping.
Oh Well, they voted for him so.............................if the shoe fits.
Is there a truly conservative newspaper that I can subscribe to out there somewhere?
“The Baltimore Sun has laid off 61 people...”
...all of whom voted for Hopey-Changey. Well, they certainly are getting change as they look for a new job.
Any university that takes a student’s money for a worthless Journalism degree should be sued for fraud.
I think the chicago tribune is down to half its size nowadays. They would be better off just printing John Kass’s column and a few sports snippets and forget the rest of that liberal dreck.
The Philadelphia Bulletin
Washington Times.
Is there also a second paper in Baltimore?
.
The Wall Street Journal seems to rise above all the bullshit and report the facts, IMO.
You know, they could save a lot of trees if they libs would just agree on one National Newspaper, since all of them publish the same Hopey Changey Global Warming USA-Sucks message anyway. One paper for them, and none for us, of course because conservative media (what little there is) just prints “hate speech” and is “divisive” anyhow.
May as well save some trees.
“And zero of the 61 realizes that they brought this on themselves.”
Right, they’re probably blaming Bush.
Just like the fools in Elkhart, Indiana. They think it’s a good thing to soak the rich even though it was “the rich” who bought those expensive motor homes during the Bush years.
Excellent!
I want everybody associated with the Democrat newsrooms to lose their jobs, their homes, and their families. For what they have done to America they deserve nothing less.
Rush even read one of the paper’s editorials on the air last week.
Great newspaper.
lol, you beat me!
yes
zero of the 61 realizes that they brought this on themselves.
The Examiner, from what I have read and heard they follow more of a conservative route. Haven't read the Sun in many years, too friggin Liberal. Not that the papers in PA are much different.
“All Ah gots to do is vote fo’ Obama and he gon’ he’p me. He gon’ pay my mortgage and keep gas in mah car. He gon’ he’p me if Ah votes for him!”
