What is going to happen in Los Angeles? How many will be infected?

Hopefully this Mexican Swine Flu will cause more Americans to demand we throw the illegals out and seal the southern border!

Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico's defeat of a French army on May 5, 1862. Clearly, an important holiday in Chicago.

Gov. Perry ought to cancel all Cinco de Mayo events across Texas. If entire school districts are closing, we certainly don’t need to have these non-essential activities.

While Cinco de Mayo has limited or no significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.[9] However, a common misconception in the United States is that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day.[10] Mexico's Independence Day is actually September 16 (dieciséis de septiembre in Spanish),[11] which is the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.[12]

What I would like to see canceled because of swine flu is Congress - we could greatly benefit if both houses of Congress went home and stayed locked in their basement - with masks on!

On NBC Los Angeles this morning, they were talking about Mexico canceling the May 1st and 5th celebrations. What NBC still doesn’t realize, is that Cinco de Mayo is not celebrated in Mexico, other than possibly in one small district, if at all. It’s only in the United States that this wonderful (/s) and colorful celebration takes place. It’s basically a thumb in your eye celebration, that isn’t a carry over from Mexico by any stretch of the imagination.
