The week of the Tea Parties, the media insisted that they were wellfunded and sponsored by the GOP and Fox News.

What happened to that talking point? Did the media ever issue a retraction?

I for one do now appreciate both of your snotty tone on this thread!
“National Organizations” got us into this mess, Individuals will get us out.

The “team” can talk to Obama and reiterate the purpose of the tea parties. It should avoid being compromised by his charms or lies.

Ask around, you are surrounded by 2nd amendment activists here. If you don’t want us at your next Tea Party, just spit it right out, don’t be shy!

I agree 100%. If there is a known leadership, then they can be coopted and corrupted. In my opinion, the movement is stronger as a disparate grassroots movement than it would be as a bureaucracy with centralized authority.

Let them call themselves something else and identify themselves as organizers of some of the more high-profile tea parties if they want to.

That's some serious naivete. Obama isn't open to anything except his own America destroying agenda. It is a mistake to believe that the invitation is anything but nefarious.

Agreed. I equate Dear Leader's true motivations to the scene in 'Braveheart' where a young William Wallace sees first-hand the results of the Scottish nobles "meeting" with King Longshanks.

I don’t know why you’re getting mad at me. I’m simply saying I want no part of a nationally organized effort in the name of the tea parties.

Sure, Obama will meet with them. Then he will promptly ignore every word they say.

I am very concerned on people we don’t know speaking to the president about this cause. It’s almost like leadership with no resume behind it.

The craziest thing could happen..they could speak out on behalf of the tea parties, say or do something we’re against, and the protestors could revolt against this.

It’s the very reason why Glenn Beck refused to be the head of this movement, because it would be so easy to destroy the whole thing by making a few, easy to isolate, person the image for the whole thing.

You brushed off a significant portion of Tea Party participants. I don’t think I read you wrong.

He will spin it in his favor.

There is a spirit of William Wallace among us and there is nothing Obama or his minions can do about it.

If these “leaders” are genuinely trying to represent the Tea Party Movement, then they should be fairly easy to contact, and it is likely that they know a Freeper. We really need to do some recon on the group and seek to speak to the head of their organization and see what their strategy is. What do we know about these “leaders?”

And, what do we do if they misrepresent us?

What if they deliberately make fools of us?

What can we do NOW, to make it clear to the public that there is no national Tea Party leadership?

Write letters to editors? Call in to radio talk shows?

Send press releases to local TV news?

It seems a proactive approach is wise... even if the National “leaders” mean well.

The Tea Parties might be the best thing we have going, and we can’t afford to have it isolated, polarized, etc.

Please offer your thoughts...
