So was TARP...I hate to say it, but I am beginning to believe we were duped by him too.
Ah, that explains what they were doing in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago. I wondered. Creepy.
Well then, you will deja vu when they actually start doing the census next year.
How do you figure? They’re obviously doing it. Several dozen FReepers have confirmed it right on this thread, and there are links above to government websites that make it clear this is what they’re doing.
Got painted yesterday morning. A middle aged Black woman walked halfway up our driveway, stopped, told us she was from the census bureau and was just checking addresses. After she left my wife looked at me and said ACORN and your stimulus package at work.

WTF? For sealing off escape routes I guess.
LOL! Good for the Sheriff! Sounds like when a neighbor came in my yard and kicked my dog and hubby decked him. The guy tried to file a complaint and the Sheriff laughed at him.
That may be why I am getting a lot more concerned looks from residents when I am out working. One of my jobs is to do drive-by property inspections and valuations for the banks, including (usually) several exterior photos of the homes. Some individuals flip out when they see me taking the pictures.
I’ve also had a carload of young thugs turn their car around, block my path and demand to know why I had taken their picture (they had driven by as I was stopped and photographing a house). At times like that being unarmed would be uncomfortable, to say the least!
Thanks, New Jersey, for your “may issue but hardly ever do to the unconnected” policy.
Thanks for posting, scary stuff.
I asked that question also, and was told that they needed their own information.
Yes, someone came here too, had a palm pilot of some kind.
Think about during the depression, when hobos and tramps were traveling the land, they would often leave messages
chalked up about the property owners, who were kind, who were mean etc. This Administration is gathering tOO much
information about the people.
We should demand to see the information contained on these
files. Addresses? Political affiliations? Cross referenced
to gun owners? This is more than the government should know.
prepping for future Predator strikes on 912’ers......
Live in a trailer, moving frequently? Don’t tempt me. I could SO do that...
Those links show that George Bush started this GPS thing back in 2006. It was very clever of Obama to get this program started even before he decided to run for president.
Do we still have to answer questions to the acorn workers, if we pay the $500 fine?
I’m pretty sure his comment was directed at the article and the links it was trying to make, not the Census GPS part of it.
Chill, people. Haven’t you heard of Google Maps? Your house’s GPS coordinates have been known for years. This, like most Federal busywork, is duplicative and wasteful and pointless, that’s all.
They want to know exactly who lives where. They can’t track your exact position all the time, but they can know exactly where you call “home”.
“Why” isn’t particularly relevant. It opens up vast new frontiers to prospective tyrants.
