Of all the members of Congress who are up for re-election in 2010, Senator Harry Reid is by far the most culpable for the out-of-control federal spending, taxpayer-funded bailouts and push for higher taxes. As Senate Majority Leader he has pushed through trillions of dollars in new spending, ran up our national debt, pushed for tax increases and cut sweetheart deals with lobbyists in order to push through federal bailouts.

From the OurCountryPAC website, as is the body of the thread:
** Also, a poll of Nevada residents taken earlier this year showed that even in his home state, Harry Reid is viewed poorly.  Just as many Nevada residents hold an unfavorable view of their own Senator (47% unfavorable) as view him in a positive light (47% favorable).  Here's what Reid's home-state newspaper, the Las Vegas Review Journal, had to say about all of this:

Has anyone stepped up to run against him?

I don't know who will run against him.

I imagine there is a good conservative candidate out there that could have a chance to defeat him if he isn't embarrassed (like dems get embarrassed) out of office.

Something happened to the link to the OurCountry link at the beginning of the thread, so here it is again:

Defeat Harry Reid

Conservative 4-term Assemblywoman Sharron Angle has formed an exploratory committee to run.

She’s a solid conservative through-and-through, and has challenged the political establishment of both the Republican Party and Democrat Party in high-profile races, and while she has lost, in both elections the loss was by less than 500 votes! She’s a formidable campaigner who delivers her message to voters on where she stands on the issues in a straightforward manner that pierces through the cloud of traditional politician-speak.

Here’s her website for more information on her:

And here’s a column about her, citing her formidable skills as a campaigner who is frequently under-estimated:

In New York:

Murphy already a target of conservative PAC

Anyone out there experiencing 20th Congressional District campaign withdrawal?

Take heart — the next round of political jousting is already in the works.

Our Country Deserves Better, a conservative political action committee, announced Wednesday it has scheduled a rally at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 in Albany to target new U.S. Rep. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls.

The rally will be a stop on a cross country “Tea Party Express” tour from August 28-Sept. 12.

“It will be a two-week long tour targeting politically vulnerable tax-and-spend liberals across the country,” said Kelly Eustis, a spokesman for the California-based organization.

Murphy took office last week, after winning the March 31 special election for the 20th Congressional District seat vacated when Kirsten Gillibrand, D-Greenport, was appointed to the U.S. Senate.

Murphy won by just over 50 percent of the vote against Republican James Tedisco, a state Assemblyman from Glenville.

Our Country Deserves Better PAC ran radio and television commercials targeting Murphy and supporting Tedisco during the special election campaign.

Murphy is expected to run for re-election in 2010.

A list of targeted candidates is at This Link
