"A 23-month-old child from Texas has become the first American to die from the swine flu outbreak, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta confirmed today. The CDC released no other information about how or where the child may have contracted the disease." ABC report, First U.S. Death From Swine Flu in Texas the CDC Confirms, April 29, 2009 [emphasis added]
My antennae started to go up as I heard various reports about the first reported swine flu death in the USA. A 23-month old child from Texas was all that we were told. Googling, I found the ABC article above pointedly mentioning that the CDC released no other information about how or where the child may have contracted the disease.

Something smells fishy ping to Today show list.
Nothing is being suppressed, this is all over the place. The young and the old die every year from influenza, this particular strain might be more virulent, but if anything they are blowing it out of proportion as it is.
Why is everyone playing to the media panic attacks? They say the best thing to do is to remain calm and yet they won’t shut up about it.
According to the CDC and WHO, 200,000 - 500,000 people around the world die from seasonal flu every year. We’ve had like what, 161? Flus spread and the prevention methods are the same. oink oink.
Local Texas news is reporting this but they don’t know or say they don’t know where the child lived. Why hide it.
The pic under post number 1 is patient 0 who lives in La Gloria Mexico near a Smithfield pig farm and as far as I know NOT the child who died here.
Waiting on tests for 200 more.
This whole swine flu story smells. The more I see I can’t help but think this is anther manufactured crisis by the BO administration. If it is such a threat to the nation then why haven’t they shut down the US/Mexican border?
My cousin’s husband is a VP for American Express and lives in Dallas and was telling us about one of her husbands colleagues two year old had it. I hope it’s not the same one. They had just returned from a trip to MEXICO. The whole family had tested positive. Also, Comal and New Braunfels ISD are closed until May 11. That’s north of San Antonio.
“The pic under post number 1 is patient 0 who lives in La Gloria Mexico near a Smithfield pig farm and as far as I know NOT the child who died here.”
That is stated in the FinkelBlog article.
Just thought I would point that out as not everyone goes right to a link and gets caught up in the thread.
Understood, but by same token I wanted people to know there was no intent to mislead.
“Close the freakin’ border!!”
And prevent millions of future Dem voters from entering? No way!
The messiah needs time to plan his next fu; advice from his co-fu’s; and besides, it feels good knowing what others dunno...
Closing the border will never happen because it will be a signal the Obama blames Mexico. And we know that Obama will put partisan politics ahead of National Security any day of the week.
Should have added the /sarc
I thought they were hyping the Swine Flu for their nefarious ends. Or so I’ve been told.
Finkelstein is paranoid.

It's good propaganda for Health Care Welfare.
Remember, Mexico was fine until the Oboma visit. After he left, people started dieing en mass.
Never listen to what the politicians say. Watch what they do. Their actions always speak louder than their words.
For example - the NY fly over. Now, there's "new" phonographs of the 9/11 plane. There's the plane, NY buildings, and a panicked people. Watch for these newly "discovered" photographs to hit the Internet soon. They're "proof" Bush blew up the towers and not Obomas Muslim friends.
You see, people are pawns. They're cattle. They're used to gain power and money. Other than that, to the "perfect race/eugenics crowd", they're all expendable.
