If true, let's send a big thank you bouquet to Karl Rove. Something from
Dogdoo.com seems appropriate.

It's a great way to end a career, being known in the end as the guy who back-stabbed his party for a desperate last grab at the gold ring.

Bye Arlen! Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out!
To: kellynla
I'm happy for him. And me.
He's gonna feel right at home in the Democratic Party with the other traitors, nuts, and megalomaniacs.

As other people have mentioned, we wouldn’t have his vote for a filibuster in most cases anyway. Goodbye, Specter!

I believe that your party affiliation should change automatically when you vote with the other party more than 50% of the time, if for no other reason than truth in advertising. Last I heard, Specter voted with the Democrats about 60% of the time.
Let's be honest, Zell Miller should have been a Republican at the end.

Arlen + Franken would be 60 Democrats. Ugh.The same math holds true whether Arlen has an "R" after his name or not.
I will, howver, be grateful to him for getting Clarence Thomas confirmed as well as Roberts and Alito.
He isn't 100% bad.

If he does that, don’t admire him for it. He just thinks he has a better chance of winning that way.

His problem is that if he loses the primary to Tooney, then he's lost. He cannot thereafter run as an independent. Whereas if he switches to Democrat before the primary process he has a chance to retain his seat.
If he switches, I'm guessing part of the deal will be that the Dem leadership insures that he runs unopposed in the Dem primary, and that ACORN does what's needed to ensure he wins the election.
