APPENZELL, Switzerland — Voters in the heart of the Swiss Alps on Sunday passed legislation banning nude hiking after dozens of mostly German nudists started rambling through their picturesque region.
By a show of hands citizens of the tiny state of Appenzell Inner Rhodes voted overwhelmingly at their traditional open-air annual assembly to impose a $176 fine on violators.
Only a scattering of people on Sunday opposed the ban on the back-to-nature activity that took off last autumn when naked hikers — primarily Germans — started showing up in eastern Switzerland.

Got that right. Ventured by mistake onto the nude beach at our resort in Jamaica once - all it took. I was pretty sure Moby Dick had beached “herself” and Moby was the only one on the beach. I think she was lying on a lounge chair but, gee, everything hung over the sides to the ground. We ran, not walked, from the nude beach. We didn’t even know it was the nude beach until we saw the sign while running away!

I read this story this morning on twitter after going to look at an undeveloped 4 acre lot. I double dog dare these yahoos to try hiking in the buff up here in the north woods.

It’s unfortunate that most people into the nude thing should not be seen without clothing. It’s the opposite of those who look fantastic are always clothed.
Life just isn’t fair.

I was in a nude wedding years ago, came within one inch of being best man.
If nude hiking is outlawed, only outlaws will be nude hiking.

A simpler way to outlaw this practice.
If you don’t wear pants, you can’t wear boots.
Not very many people want to hike thru the mountains barefooted.
Surprised that they didn’t pass an ordinance saying that you could only hike nude between December 1st and February 1st. That should limit the problem to only the clinically insane, who will self-solve themselves by collapsing from exposure, frostbite or Pneumonia.
