I don't always, but I recognized the tactics employed right away and expected the article would be entertaining even though I knew how it would end.

Another favorite back in the day at PI was to hold the M1 Garand at arms length, using just the thumb and curled forefinger of each hand to grasp it by the stacking swivel.
And you knew what was in store if you dropped your weapon in front of the DI.

One thing that I’ve always told people (civilians) since I got out when they’re amazed at my cool in bad situations, and my physical endurance, is that no one can play head games with me, or work my body to exhaustion, because I’ve been up against the torture masters of the universe...and lived through it.
