Governor Sarah Palin visited the Kodiak Launch Complex Thursday April 23, 2009 located at Narrow Cape, AK on Kodiak Island. The Governor got an up close and personal tour of the facility by CEO Dale Nash and President and COO Tom Case. The State of Alaska has made a significant financial contribution to the construction of this facility. The KLC success rate has brought a growing number of new customers and diverse business opportunities to Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation and the Kodiak Launch Complex. KLC is poised for significant growth as the vital role of the space-based systems becomes increasingly important to our nation. The launch facility is the newest and best equipped anywhere. AADC will provide support for future MDA target missions as well as two missions with the United States Air Force in 2009.
The Kodiak Launch Complex is a test site located at Kodiak Island, Alaska. From this complex, the U.S. military frequently launches test missiles, which then travel across the Pacific Ocean towards the Kwajalein Test Range in the Marshall Islands, from which missile defense interceptors are launched to intercept them.
In service since 1998, Kodiak is an all-weather launch complex owned and operated by the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation. Although located on a 3,100 acre site, the actual facility constitutes only 27 acres. The complex is divided between four main sites: the Launch Control and Management Center; the Payload Processing Facility; the Integration and Processing Facility/Spacecraft Assemblies Transfer Facility; and the Launch Pad and Service Structure.
On November 5, 1998, the U.S. Air Force launched of the Atmospheric Interceptor Technology (AIT) suborbital rocket, marking the first launch from the complex. In 2004 and 2005, the MDA tested ground-based interceptors against test missiles launched from Kodiak.(1)

Palin PING!
Anyone on or off the Palin ping, write me.
Right now I still think she is the best chance we have.
The democrats think so too, that’s why the attacks will
keep coming.
Strange looking shoes.
Good looking woman with a great head on her shoulders even with funny shoes.
Also how are Aladdin and Cashmere?
Best looking garden protectors I’ve ever seen.
Alot to be said for practical shoes :) She’s darn cute, even tho
Clogs are the most comfortable walking and standing shoes I have ever worn. Though mine are not as sporty as the Gov’s...
A Ducati?
How do you like it?
What is the length of your riding season there?
Tomorrow the wife and I are going to ride around Lake Okeechobee on our Harley Electraglide.
Where about in Penn?
She sure has presence. I hope she makes an honorable run in 2012 and comes back to win in 2016... unless by then the nation will think it is too racist to have a white president. 2012? Obama would have to make some gigantic mistakes, the press loves him too much but I guess anything is possible.
Palin for President!
Those dogs are a mess. They woke me up this morning around 3 am just like they do every morning.
I’ve a 6 month old blond Lab that is quite obviously looking for a night job when it grows up.
Sleeps as muchduring the day as possible and wants to toss the ball of frisbee ALL night long.
Beautiful dogs though.
Looks like she is wearing clogs. Great for your feet.
Nah, they look like a Merrell hybrid sport shoe. All the rage right now.
Thanks for posting these pics.
I'm in Pittsburgh.
I remember Aligator Alley before they made it a super highway.
2 lane nasty road filled with gators when it rained.
And bugs?
Man some as large as single engine planes.
Ya like Pittsburg?
Been pulling for the Penguins since the Panthers were out of it.
Been in P'burgh 10 years, it's cozy. Mostly good folk, good food, GREAT beer (Penn Brewery). It's been a good place to be a single dad. It's like village living with big city amenities.
