Chris Christie gets endorsed by Sussex GOP (NJ conservatives, let's teach the NJ GOP a lesson!)

I'm not trying to get around the excerpt posting rules, but the critical paragraph is in the second part of the article:
In addition to Sussex, Christie has also won GOP endorsements in Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union counties.
The NJ state GOP – only marginally better than the Democrats here – is trying, once again, to push a Republican candidate that conservative voters don’t want. You’ll note that nearly every county in New Jersey has had its county GOP endorse Christie … even though Christie is pro-gun control, pro-abortion, pro-Abbott Districts, and has said that being an illegal alien “is not a crime.” In other words, the same-old, same-old kind of “Republican” candidate we’ve come to expect in every election in New Jersey.

I say that it’s time for this state party machine to receive notice that we’re not going to put up this crap any more.

I’m not (or have not been, I guess) a Lonegan fanatic ... but I’ve been listening to him for the last several years, and I like what I hear. Already, I’ve been reading the usual arguments: “he can’t win,” “he can’t beat Corzine,” etc. The same arguments we hear every election, the same arguments that leave us with either a crappy elected official or a crappy losing candidate. I’m tired of that cycle, and I say it’s time to break it.

In addition to Lonegan’s accomplishments as mayor of Bogota, let’s not forget that HE was largely responsible for the successful defeat of those ballot initiatives a few years back. So the “Lonegan can’t win” argument is pretty weak.

If the recent Tea Parties have demonstrated anything, it’s that “the power of the people” is NOT yet dead in America. That people can come together in common cause and make a difference in the status quo.

I’m not in any way denigrating Christie’s accomplishments as a federal prosecutor. In fact, I’ve been a huge fan of those accomplishments. I’d like to see him do more of the same ... but this good-ol’ boy network that is the NJ Republican Party MUST BE STOPPED.

Since February, conservatives across the country have shown that this kind of thing CAN be accomplished. Is anyone willing to do it here in New Jersey? Or will we continue to be dictated to by a state GOP that is only marginally better than the Democrats?

Okay, stepping down from the soapbox. Bring on the comments (and flames, I’m sure).

I don’t think we need any more Christie RINOs. There’s not much sign that he’s any kind of economic conservative, either.

Suppose Lonegan does lose to Corzine. Just how much worse would Corzine be than Christie? Would Chr istie’s judicial appointments be so different from the other Christie’s? Is there a judge in NJ who is not an activist?

I am sick of the back room deals and endorsements. I moved back to Jersey in 1991 and the next thing I knew my pro-life representative, Rinaldo had stepped down at the last minute, keeping his campaign money and letting the back room boys slide pro-abortion Bob Franks in, without any primary fight. The back room alone is enough to make me vote for Lonegan. Heck, I’ll even send him money.

Lonegan CAN beat Corzine. People must get to the polls in this primary. It is crucial to the state of the State!

Yes, if Lonegan can manage to secure the nomination, I believe that he can beat Corzine.

Great prosecutor. Too bad he’s such a liberal RINO politically though.

I think that the first thing I am gonna do on Monday morning is to look thru Christie’s website and find everyone in my town and in my county that endorsed him. Then I will call them up and ask them why they did so. I will want to know EXACTLY what it is that they endorse about Christie.

I will ask if they are aware that he never balanced a budget, has zero economic experience and zero personnel experience. I will also ask if they are aware that he is anti 2nd amendment, weak on illegal immigration and takes no stance on moral issues (abortions for minors, partial birth abortions, gay marriage, etc)

I am curious to what their answers will be. I think it is important to makes these ppl take responsibility for their endorsement.

And I will never, ever again compromise my beliefs or conservative values to vote for the lessor of two weasels. I will do whatever is in my power help get the changes I want to see in the GOP (who will not see a dime of my money until they make some changes).

Could someone put together a NJ ping list? I'm in the Bronx. If I see a NJ story, I'd like to know whom needs a ping if they are not on my list.

So far, I favor Lonegan, too. But, no matter who becomes the GOP candidate, if that person doesn’t beat Corzine this election, it’s hopeless in this state.

neverdem, I have an "unofficial" NJ ping list that I've compiled from people who have replied to my posts over the years, and whose FR profile has the NJ flag on it. Some of the names you pinged on your post are also on my list.

The reason I copy you on certain things, even though you're in NY, is because I notice you often reply to the NJ threads....

Christie: pro-abortion, anti-2nd-amendment, against school vouchers, for civil unions and said that illegal aliens aren’t breaking the law, failed to prosecute a human trafficer where abortions took place and newborns were let to die; he’ll fit right in with the blue-blood, WASP, RINO establishment in NJ.

Other FReepers in NJ might want to know that. You might want to let them know that you have a NJ ping list. cgk has compiled a bunch of lists.

This is precisely why I’ve given up on the ‘lesser of two evils’. Using that rational has allowed both major parties to be run by globalists and keep sidling to the left.

The only difference between most Republican and Democrats in NJ is do we get cooked very fast or fast.

I’ve been following Lonegan for a few years now and both voted fro him in the primary and wrote him in for governor last election. I’ve already contributed to his primary campaign.
