As longtime readers know, in the past several years, I've gotten a lot of death threats, ALL of them from Muslim residents of the United States a/k/a the "moderate" ones. Three of the four have been prosecuted, but the Justice Department refuses to pursue the most scary and frequent of the death threat perpetrators (Lola Elzein, who contacted me six times with escalating threats of rape, torture, and death to myself and my family members).
But yesterday, I got a not-so-veiled threat from a man named Chad Castagana, who is on the right . . . the far, far, nutty right. He was, in the past, an alleged frequent commenter on Free Republic under a fake name (not to say Freepers are like him, most are not), and he has a far-right blog.

Don’t know for how long, nor why. But if he made anti-semetic remarks here or real threats of violence he wouldn’t last long.
I supported Pat Buchanan for years. I joined a local Rabbi to do it. I am one of Israel’s strongest advocates. So when this person states that all Buchananites hate Jews, she’s simply factually incorrect. And when you slander his followers as neo-Nazi crazies, you really don’t know what you are talking about either.
Many of us joined Pat because of his stand on illegal immigration. I don’t particularly like our hospitals, schools, and population being abused at their hands. Every case of murder, rape, pedophilia, robbery, grand theft, that takes place at the hands of these people, is a crime that would not have taken place if they were not here. That was reason enough for me to support Pat.
As for Pat being an anti-Semite, I have heard him defend Israel’s right to defend itself. During one campaign where Israel was taking action to prevent terrorists from entering it’s borders, Buchanan stated that any nation including Israel has the right, indeed to obligation to put an end to it.
Am I supposed to consider the former Presidents and their appointments anti-Semites when they stated that Israel should show restraint during these situations, and asked it to refrain from taking action that might interfere with some negotiations or another? Well, I don’t. People have views and they express them. That does not in all instances make them hatters of Jews.
BTW, 99.9% of Freepers don’t post under their own names.

However, though not a major Sean Hannity listener, am I deaf in NOT hearing the antisemitism Miss Schlussel says he represents?? That seemed out of left field to me.

No, he posted under his actual name in 2006. Made all of five posts. Lasted all of 17 minutes and 8 seconds before a mod dropped the boom on him. I guess it would be asking too much for Debbie to contact Jim or a mod to get the specifics.

Unlike some FReepers, I am well aware that anti-Semitism on the "Right" is far from dead. The "Right" and "Left" are actually uniting on this issue as they are on others (the environment, mystical nationalism, rejection of Biblical religion in favor of a more "authentic" paganism, etc.). Note that these anti-Semites on "the Far Right" are 100% in favor of the moslems in their wars against Israel and America.
As I said, this is the first I have learned about Sean Hannity's associations with either Turner or Buchanan (I'm not TV news watcher). I recently learned of another "respectable conservative" (not really respectable, since he's a high up in the JBS of which I used to be a member) who speaks before ultra-right wing Catholic groups on "the Jewish menace," so these people have not gone away and, unfortunately, nothing surprises me anymore.

While that is certainly possible, that's not necessarily what happened. When I joined FR (ten years ago next month) it was infested with anti-Semites, and many of them hung on until long after 9/11. Most of them are gone now (thank G-d), but there are still a few around.
If you think that Pat Buchanan is not a Jew hater these days, you have not been paying attention to him lately. He may not have been an anti-semite 20-30 years ago, but he has gone off the deep end lately.
Debbie, we have a lot of trolls show up here just because the media pays attention.. most, are here solely for the purpose of making bad comments to give us a bad name... Trolls aren’t FReepers, nor do they define what we are. They are no more FReepers than a flea on an elephant makes the elephant the same as the flea.
