As much as it was roundly and rightly panned around here, this bump is tied, in part, to the phony $100 million “cuts” in department budgets.

Following daily polls will make you insane.

Yup. There's no accounting for the day-to-day stuff, but just look at the bigger trend. The lines are going to cross soon.

Remember, we're still only THREE MONTHS into the guy's presidency. Imagine what this poll will look like in two years.

>> Lurking out there is a huge government debt and huge amounts of taxes that will have to be raised.

Don’t forget the 20% “tax” on energy use.

These things will get people’s attention eventually, but a lot of damage will be done before they have had enough.

"That is not yet upon us, but like a tidalwave it is coming."

You are using a far too altrusitic euphemism...

"That is not yet upon us, but like a tidalwavetsunami it is coming."

There, fixed it!

Don’t be surprised. Throughout history, most totalitarian dictators enjoyed substantial popular approval during their early days of rule.

We are headed towards a very dark period in American history, and there is no stopping it. All we can do it try our best to prepare for it, and know who our friends are.

Ah, hate to burst your bubble, but...

due to their deeply engrained worldview,
leftists believe in the concept of consequence-free solutions.

And, they are willing to put up with a LOT of disappointments and tyranny in order to get there, because, of course, once we “get there”, all problems will be solved.

This is why collectivist tyrants have historically gotten a free pass for genocide and tyranny in the “short term” because of their promises of utopia at the end of the valley.

Not a big deal. His overall approval rating did not move. Still at 55%. Not great.

Let’s see how things look for him when the Taliban has nuclear weapons, the US has trillions of dollars in debt and China won’t lend us any more money.

The people on SS are starting to get a 250 dollar stimulus. Letters received this week. Maybe that has something to do with this.

This is all insane and you cannot put much trust in these polls. Give it until January when it will all have sunk in by then. There’s no denying there are those still in denial and not following what’s going on, but it is going to become ever more apparent no matter how much they continue to try and prop this fraud up. There are those a little slow to this, but it will happen by January. I want to see 0bama out in a public setting where they don’t control the audience. It will happen and that will be quite revealing to the propaganda being pushed continually by his adoring press.

“This is a MoveOn bump from Obama’s torture investigation comment. It tells me his comment was calculated and not an off-the-cuff remark.”

I absolutely agree with you. Bambi now has positive reinforcement for this comment, which means he may keep going down that track.

This is a very dangerous time...no longer do we have a peaceful transition of power. If we start jailing members of the previous administration, we are a banana republic.

This mirrors other recent polls.

Sounds like the “Razzle Dazzle” is working, and that Americans are just plain tired of war.

They will regret it.

You don’t sober up a drunk(the economy) by giving him more to drink.

Swings of 6% are within the error of the poll. Save your energy. ;-)

Show me in a week that he hasn’t been below +5 and I will pay attention to this SINGLE FREAKING DAY of polling.

Anyone who was dizzy with happiness at +2 yesterday and frought with peril at +6 today needs to take their meds and settle down.

I'm not that concerned, especially because I have said all along that Ras's breakdown of "highly positive" and "highly negative" is new, and bogus. The old-fashioned approval is what counts, and that has only moved up one point, having gone down pretty steadily for a couple of weeks, to 54% (now 55%).

The poll reflects the lag from last week where the market went up some, the lingering effects of the SEAL rescue, but probably doesn't yet reflect fallout from Napolitano's increasingly idiotic positions or the Chavez-love-in.

I urge people, good or bad, NOT to get caught up in the strongly approve/strongly disapprove gap that Ras touts, but keep focused on that 55% number. When it starts to get under 50%, he'll be in trouble.

I don’t get it. I have no clue why Obama would get any bump out of the last few day’s headlines. Maybe it’s just the spring weather!
