Oh to be a fly on the NBC cafeteria wall next time Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews run into each other. On todays Morning Joe, Scarborough singled out Hardball as an example of the cable shows he doesnt watch because their guests vomit bad information for which theyre cheered.
Scarborough slammed Bob Baer, a former CIA agent, who on yesterdays Hardball claimed you cannot rely on torture, and that the interrogation of Khalid Sheikh Mohamed and Abu Zubaydah produced only fantasies that got us nowhere. Reacting to the report that KSM had been waterboarded 183 times, Baer declared: I can pretty well safely say the man is brain-dead.
Baers comments unleashed a torrent of criticism from Scarborough.

Scarborough slams shows like Hardball ping to Today show list.
So...this ex-spook is a doctor? I doubt it.
Their ratings are in the toilet yet they keep on with this dishonesty.
RINOborough skips the middleman, and vomits the bad info personally.
Maybe I am just too jaded to really believe Joe Scarborough has any conservative principles, but I think everyone on MSNBC has been givin marching orders from the top brass after yesterday’s disastrous GE stockholders meeting. Just look at Olbermann’s tirade against Democrat Ben Nelson last night. I think the jaw poppers on MSNBC have been told to show a little “unbias.” Tonight I bet Chris Matthews will actually compliment a Republican.
It’s all for ratings...obviously, MSDNC needs some.
In fairness, I’d suggest reading the article: Scarborough went to bat against people like the Hardball guest for defaming CIA agents.
What’s up with Scarborough? He’s actually sounding sensible again. For the longest time, he had been drinking the MSNBC koolaid.
Baer is really an oddball, isn’t he? He kind of fits in the Larry Johnson (verging on Scott Ritter) category. The problem as Joe points out- is that when guests come on cable shows they’re assumed to be experts in their field. The public hears “former CIA agent” and thinks the guy knows his facts and probably inside info. Two days later a poll will come out reflecting the disinformation and bingo- the circle is complete.
In any event- good for Joe!
He’s playing the token role as the conservative on Douchebc!
You can safely say it on Hardball because the Titan of Tingle won't contradict you, but that doesn't mean you're correct.
Perhaps Joe wants to flee a sinking ship and hopes Fox will pick him up?
Joe seems like a rational, sensible guy, but I just can’t trust anyone who’d work for MSNBC. There are crack whores who won’t do MSNBC.
The GE stockholders need to band together and vote Imelt OUT!
and then get rid of all of the rest of the DemoFascist propagandists that he hired, as well. They would do better to just go ahead and pay off the contracts of Matthews, Olbermann, and Maddow *Inow* and get them off the air.
He's a prostitute?
“The public hears former CIA agent and thinks the guy knows his facts and probably inside info.”
Often there is a good reason for the term “former”. The fellow couldn’t do his job.
Does anyone have a list of the sponsors of Maddow, Olbermann and Matthews??? I don’t know about starting a movement to boycott them, but I certainly would want to avoid their goods and services if I can.
The misinformation by the drive by media of redefining torture continues and its very bad for the country
Wont be the first time Scarborough crossed swords with some of those liberals over there. He took on Olbermann last year. He and Buchanan take on the liberals regularly and usually prevail handily.
