Nurse, formerly a stripper, alleges sexual harassment in Markleysburg ("Pretty Boy")

A registered nurse who tried unsuccessfully to hide his past employment as a stripper has accused a Fayette County personal care home and two of its administrators of sexual harassment.

In a civil lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, Roy E. Dreshman Jr., 55, of Munhall, Allegheny County, alleges the harassment began two months after he was hired as a nurse at Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg in 1997. He alleges he was continuously propositioned, referred to as a "pretty boy" and subjected to unsolicited touching until he was terminated in 2008.

Dreshman filed the lawsuit after the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission dismissed a similar complaint he had filed earlier. In a copy of the EEOC complaint that is attached to the federal lawsuit, Dreshman indicated he told no one of his work as a stripper when he was hired, but it was made public when two co-workers recognized him.

After that revelation, Dreshman alleged, some employees passed around photos of Dreshman as a dancer. Others requested lap dances, and some asked him to dance with the residents or to perform at bachelorette parties, he alleged.

One employee hung on her office wall a poster showing Dreshman and other performers in a male revue, according to the complaint. Dreshman said he had given the poster to the employee so she would stop inquiring about it in front of others.

"She promised to keep it private, but she put it up in her office," Dreshman wrote. "I never suspected she would display it in her office."

Dreshman said new employees were quickly told of his past profession, and some of the care home's residents participated in the discrimination.

"Residents made comments like: 'Oh, my gosh, you are one of them go-go boys,'" wrote Dreshman in the EEOC complaint.

I hear pole dancing may become a demonstration “sport” at the next Olympics.

So much for his side of the story. The fact is that if he had kept his mouth shut about a past he wasn't proud of, no one would know. If you bragged about it, as he apparently did; he created the atmosphere. The same thing would be true if this were a woman.

If you worked as a topless dancer, and now work as a nurse - do not announce to your co-workers that you were a top-less dancer. It really is that simple. If they ask, tell them that you were a waiter/waitress.

He put up with it for 11 years? Obviously it didn’t bother him too much.

I'm seriously shocked his allegation of harassment's directed toward women.
At first glance I'd guessed it involved his employment activities at a gay bar, the harassment from their patrons.

Obviously a real man; while, unfortunately a flake.

A former boss was a Chippdale's dancer. He wouldn't take calls to a location referred to by us IT guys as "The Hen House". It was a bullpen-style office that did graphic design for the company. It was populated exculsively by women and gay men. Trust me when I tell you that these weren't hot, 20-something sorority chicks.

Anyhoo, this dipwad boss used to send me down there on calls. I'm no Chippendale's dancer, lol, but it was the only place in my entire career that I've been made to feel really uncomfortable. And God Help me if I needed to bend over and crawl around underneath a desk. These women could give a lineup of Construction Workers a run for their money.

So why did I put up with it? Well, it's not like the experience gave me PTSD or anything, it was just one more unpleasant facet to an already crappy job. But mostly it was becuase I didn't want to put up with the "Are those mean girls picking on you, WBill?" BS.

Nurses in long-term care homes go through an extensive criminal background check and must list ALL of their previous mployment.

He could not keep his past employment a secret.

Of course, there are no such rules for congressmen.

Yep.

My current employer keeps me sequestered in meetings/data centers/my office. I don't get out in the user community very often, anymore.

I don't miss it. And I really don't miss The Hen House. Last time I talked to a guy still working at that company, he told me that the HBIC (Head, erm, Bosslady, In Charge) down there had been laid off. I didn't feel too sorry for her.

I do wonder what the guy looks like. Is he still a chick magnet? Having to beat them off with a stick? Or should he be grateful for any attention the hags throw his way?
