President Obama has promised to push the U.S. Senate into ratifying an Organization of American States arms treaty. As the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, NSSF is dedicated to protecting the lawful commerce of firearms and ammunition and will continue to monitor and comment on all actions involving likely Senate action to ratify CIFTA -- the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.
It’s a given that he can get 60 votes to end debate and move to a vote. Can he get 67 votes?
IMO, that will be s stretch, and I don’t mean Pelosi.
Thank god he can’t sign it and it would be law.
The link article talks about assault weapons and Obama’s stated support for a particular treaty in Mexico, but never actually tells us what the treaty says.
I don't think the 60 votes are a given. Will Senator Webb and other Democrats representing conservative states commit political suicide to help this proposal?
Way to go, Ron Paul and other “I won’t vote for that RINO McCain” folks!
You get the Government your “high road ethics” provide!
It is nearly impossible to awaken some to the reality that the dnc is not going to relinquish power this time ... all roads point to the permanency of the federal oligarchy under democrap control. ACORNs are in your future. Rohmbo Emmanuel has told US that a crisis will not be wasted, that during the greatest crisis ‘we’ (meaning the marxist democrats) can accomplish (institute draconian measures to solidify their power over the sheeple) things ‘we’ could not otherwise do. And old satan’s helper ‘R.Emmanuel’ is rushing forward helter skelter regardless of efficacy for the now dead constitutional republic.
The blowback is coming not from the Right, but from the Obozo supporters who have now lost their jobs as a direct consequence of his election.
Look at this map and tell me you cannot see the train coming.

"I hafta reverse the misguided policies of the previous administration."
"You hafta make sacrifices and do what I say."
O bow ma’s supporters aren’t smart enough to connect the dots. One quick release of Bush era CIA memos is sufficient to divert their idiot minds from the reality at hand. And you know Axelrod has enough astroturf to be spittled from the enemedia to continue the lemming O bow ma train over the cliff.
IMO, they will get more R votes to end debate than D votes they will lose.
But I don’t count votes for a living, so I could be wrong.
How can one swear to support and honor the Constitution and also support laws and/or treaties that conflict with the Constitution?
Seems that it would be a violation of the oath of office for everyone involved.
You think McStain would be any better? Puh-leeze.
>>You think McStain would be any better? Puh-leeze.
Than the commie in office now? Even hitlery would have been better!
McCain is such a pansy, he’ll probably lead the charge to get Republicans to agree to this.
Impossible. Ratifying the treaty would guarantee immediate civil war if the authorities tried to enforce it, which they wouldn't dare do.
Somee politicians may want to, but most LEO would likely refuse to kick that hornets nest (and surrender their own personal weapons).
I really like the “Massachusetts Miracle” since Deval “Mini-Me” Patrick became governor in 2007.
I am sorry, but my knowledge of Mass. is very very limited.
What you stated just did not register, explain.
I understood that Deval Patrick was a Dem, and that he had some “banking connections”. Past that I am totally in the dark.

All will say is WOW and no wonder them DU members are pissed at Obama. They are finally getting it. It’s not Dem or Rep. there is plenty of blame for both side. Our govt is now like a bad apple, rotten to the core all the way to and including the SCOTUS.
