A Timid Advocate of Freedom [Romney Spanks Obama for Embarrassing World Stage Debut]
National Review Online ^ | 04/21/2009 | Mitt Romney

Posted on 04/21/2009 5:48:04 AM PDT by mbraynard

At last week’s Summit of the Americas, President Obama acquiesced to a 50-minute attack on America as terroristic, expansionist, and interventionist from Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega. His response to Ortega’s denunciation of our effort to free Cuba from Castro’s dictatorship was that he shouldn’t be blamed “for things that happened when I was three months old.” Blamed? Hundreds of men, including Americans, bravely fought and died for Cuba’s freedom, heeding the call from newly elected president John F. Kennedy.....

Right now, the entire GOP is gutless. Voiceless. And spineless.

Mitt’s speaking up.

Please, get out of his way, at least while he’s doing the right thing!

When someone better stands up next - then let’s decide who is the more deserving. Right now, please let the man talk. Mitt’s completely right to criticize 0bozo.

Someone has to.

No problem.

Once it’s Mitt and Governor Palin though. All bets are off. :)

Well, I agree with you on that!

I was fortunate enough to hear Palin speak in Raleigh, NC last fall. I’m a big fan. (you betcha!)

Amazing about Obama’s screw-ups. I learned in fifth grade that Presidents don’t curtsy to Kings. Or, bow, either.

Nut Obama went to Hawaii’s uberliberal Pounahou School for Spoiled Rich Kids where all they teach you is how rottenthe “colonialists” were (that founded their school).

shouldn’t be blamed “for things that happened when I was three months old.”

And our grandchildren shouldn’t be responsible for the trillions of dollars of debt he’s creating before they are born either.

Romney and the antiPalins are responsible for Obama’s win,
and if it is not understood, it will happen again.

But you are so right about the GOP jellyfish,
voiceless and spineless.

Like him or not—on this Mitt is 100% right. Obama feels good with Dictators because in his heart he is one himself. Mark my words—he will try to keep power any way he can even if it means canceling on elections because of some “emergency” or Crisis he can concoct. His true nature will come out and when it does—Both Liberals and Conservatives will join together to fight him. I hope I am wrong.

You have piqued my curiosity.

Please explain how Mitt (or the candidate of your choice) threw a free election to the Obamination that now occupies the oval office.

The last time I checked, you could steal an election, but not throw it to someone else. Especially if you bow out during the primaries. To we this assertion sounds like “pushing a rope”.

Again, please explain your logic on how Mitt threw the election.

He’s one of the few that isn’t afraid to blast H and the Clintons... Regardless of how one feels about him and his past, we should all commend THIS action... Actually, I commend ANY act of defiance and criticism of H.

You’re a disgrace... Didn’t take long for you to poison this thread. It’s not about how you feel about Mitt.

The problem is there’s nothing he can do to convince you he’s a conservative.

Huh?

I welcome Mitt to the conservative side. I hope he'll stay.

Did not post how I feel about Romney. Perhaps in the future.

And the only 'poison' has been from Romney, and his RomneyBOTs,
and the complicit MSM media attacks on Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

So how does it matter that Romney now attacks the very 'straw man'
whom he put into office?
How is that working out for you?

Only the most ignorant can make a case, in their mind, that Romney gave is H.

You’re a disgrace... Didn’t take long for you to poison this thread. It’s not about how you feel about Mitt.

Romney is campaigning for 2012 and the only way that he can pull off this coup is to knock off the conservatives early, it is disgraceful that you would take up his cause by working to support him here at FR.

Mitt Romney is poison to conservatism even if he did "long" to serve in Vietnam and he can't get one of those five military age sons to pull a hitch. Since he was anti Reagan and anti conservative during the Cold War it is especially galling to see him shamelessly use Reagan in his newest version of his perpetual makeover.

No, I honestly didn't. I think I've submitted ... 4 or 5 pieces, mostly vanities in my time here.

But now I know.

I’m not supporting him for President. I’m SUPPORTING THIS article... That’s what this thread is about... not your hate of Romney... That’s so old already, give it up.

Mitt Romney is openly campaigning for office and to do that he has to repackage himself as a conservative which he isn’t.

Conservatives have an interest in how the candidates are positioning and selling themselves even now, keeping the light of truth on the candidates is part of what we do here.

You may want us to leave an open field for Mitt Romney and Giuliani and even Christ and other rinos, and let them campaign for a couple of years unopposed until it is too late but we can’t do that.

You and I both are taking sides on the 2012 election, I don’t want Mitt Romney to steal the primary from the better, less well funded and non-media supported conservatives, it is important that we not let Romney simply sell a phony image.
