Are You an ‘Extremist’? (Thomas Sowell)
Jewish World Review ^ | April 20, 2009 | Thomas Sowell

Posted on 04/20/2009 8:14:26 PM PDT by jazusamo

While the rest of us may be worried about violent Mexican drug gangs on our border, or about terrorists who are going to be released from Guantanimo, the Director of Homeland Security is worried about "right-wing extremists."

Just who are these right-wing extremists?

According to an official document of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, right-wing extremists include "groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." It also includes those "rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority."

If you fit into any of these categories, you may not have realized that you are considered a threat to national security. But apparently the Obama administration has its eye on you.

According to the same official document, the Department of Homeland Security "has no specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence." But somehow they just know that you right-wingers are itching to unleash terror somewhere, somehow.

So-called "honor killings" by Muslims in the United States, including a recent beheading of his wife by a leader of one of the American Muslim organizations, does not seem to arouse any concern by the Department of Homeland Security.

A lot of these so called “leaks” and statements about forming a so called National Police Force..while they very well may be in the works, but the leaking of the plans is nothing less than FEAR MONGERING and the little tin horn dictator wanna be that's in the white house has sorely underestimated the deep love of country and freedom that true Americans feel for our nation.....and he'll find out if he keeps on pushing us toward Marxism .

There's a very good reason why he's so at ease , smiling, cozying up to all the Commie/Marxist leaders south of the border and beyond...they're right up his ally....they have the same ideology as he has...they have a hatred, deep, deep aversion to our nation and our way of life......so does he....thus the theme of his campaign.....CHANGE....

I will caution those who voted for this guy, better be careful what you wish for...you may get it.

Where are our PAC’s? This is a goldmine! One of many, but a goldmine nonetheless.

Commercial ideas:
Innocent Young lady holding a sign “Former Fetus 4 Life” (Terrorist)
Segue
BO Speaking to Illinois Senate against Protecting Born Alive(National Hero)
End - Elections have consequences.
2.
Group of Hunters and armed peaceful citizens. (TERRORISTS)
segue
Bill Ayers standing on the flag in an alley. (National Hero)
End - Elections have consequences.
3.
Group of hardworking men / women / soccer moms, with some wording about concerns over oppressive massive high taxing government.(Terrorists)
segue
Obama and his friendship shake with Chavez, with wording about a vicious oppressive confiscatory dictator(National Friend)
end - Elections have consequences...

Just ideas, I'm sure more marketing savvy folks could do better, but C’mon - let's get after it..! Hardball time, fire with fire and all that, it's only our country at stake. I'd start donating monthly to a hardball PAC that jumped on the scene. Please point me in the right direction if I'm missing one.

It definitely makes for a target rich environment and should cost Nappie her job but I doubt it will.

You have a good point but I was thinking in terms of degrading people to a lesser human. Slavery, genocide, mass murder and ethic cleansing doesn’t happen until the target people are a lesser being.

We can not let them get away with degrading us.

Don’t think it can’t happen here...

While some may scoff, I believe that not only *can* it happen here, I believe, that at some point in time, it *will* happen here.

It is inevitable, to those who have read, and understood the scriptures. Should we fight against it? Most certainly! Will *we* win? No, for it is in the end, not our fight to win, but G-ds, and He will win it...

I know. But this works both ways - not only labelling us in a dehumanizing way, but simultaneously subverting the meaning of the word terrorist.

The admin is making this country into what old Europe used to be like, where if you disagree with the government, you are arrested, or they make your life miserable.

That does seem the mindset of some in the Administration. And the newspapers? So quiet on this issue...

Exactly! I told my hubby the other night that I don’t care what President Urkel OR his minions in Congress, Cabinet, propose or do, I WILL NOT CHANGE HOW I LIVE MY LIFE!

This was leaning to the extreme of what happens down the road. This is obviously not what is happening now.

Reportedly, the FBI and the Defense Department are cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security in investigations of returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. That people who have put their lives on the line for this country are made the target of what is called the Vigilant Eagle program suggests that this administration might be more of a threat than the people they are investigating.

All this activity takes on a more sinister aspect against the background of one of the statements of Barack Obama during last year's election campaign that got remarkably little attention in the media. He suggested the creation of a federal police force, comparable in size to the military.

Why such an organization? For what purpose?

Since there are state and local police forces all across the country, an FBI to investigate federal crimes and a Department of Justice to prosecute those who commit them, as well as a Defense Department with military forces, just what role would a federal police force play?

Maybe it was just one of those bright ideas that gets floated during an election campaign. Yet there was no grassroots demand for any such federal police nor any media clamor for it, so there was not even any political reason to suggest such a thing.

What would be different about a new federal police force, as compared to existing law enforcement and military forces? It would be a creation of the Obama administration, run by people appointed from top to bottom by that administration — and without the conflicting loyalties of those steeped in existing military traditions and law enforcement traditions.

See? Paper tiger.
