Its nine rocket engines will provide 8,000 pounds of thrust to lift it between 3,000 and 4,000 feet above its launching point in Price, Md. Pretty cool ... but then again, given all that thrust it's pretty disappointing performance, too. Having not seen the specs, I'm guessing it's a single-stage deal, so they're dragging a bunch of excess weight.
