Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano blamed "politicization" for a week of furor over a report that warned "right-wing extremists" were recruiting veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
She also said the Obama administration's veterans programs were necessary to combat such extremism.

So let me get this straight.
Nanny Napolitano blamed “politicization” for a week of furor over the report that claims I am a terrorist and in the same breath reassures me Comrade Zero’s veteran policy will prevent extremism? The way I read this sentence is this administration still believes me to be a terrorist but when Zero gets around to offering his “touch” on the VA, I will at least not be an extreme one?

As insulting as this document is, I believe the timing was a shot across our bow, just before the tea parties. The writing was amatuer or hurried or both, but I think the intent was scare us from attending the tea parties and engaging in our political discourse. Yes, it may also be quite serious on their part, but I do think the larger meaning was a scare tactic. Just my two cents.
And yesterday it was reported that a returning marine was caught with a firearm and “explosive components” in his checked luggage. Talk about peculiar timing.
Typical. There's nothing wrong with anything she's done. She's just unhappy that some crazy rightwingers took offense to her eminently reasonable proposals.
Napolitano does not regret politicizing yet another federal agency to go after Obama’s political opponents. Napolitano regrets that her intended victims are objecting.
The Napolitano Gestapo resembles the Keystone Cops more than the SS or the KGB. If they can’t stop pregnant women from waddling across the border at will, I can’t imagine they’ll be very effective in stopping a real threat, let alone a bunch of tax-protesting grandmothers in Sacramento.
