LONDON Famed mathematician Stephen Hawking was rushed to a hospital Monday and was seriously ill, Cambridge University said.
...
Hawking, 67, gained renown for his work on black holes, and has remained active despite being diagnosed at 21 with ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), an incurable degenerative disorder also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

It’s a shame, since it seems scientists are loved most, with gifts to open up the universe and beyond.
I pray he realizes he carried the cross with Christ (such as footprints and realizing the Lord was carrying up, hence the one set of footprints).
He has done much for science and this world, while being a living example (whether acknowledged or not), of what life is capable of... no matter what the world considers worth.
May God bless him and his family.
Catholic’s don’t believe in Christ? I doubt that.
Check for that chip on your shoulder. I have no problem with a person being Catholic and “born again”, I know several. Although I have never been Catholic, I attended a Catholic school growing up and I study Medieval Catholicism as part of my research area (History). You will never hear me attack the Catholic church.
I have also read some of Hawking’s work, I agree he is a genius and I admire his work. That doesn’t mean intelligence means one will go to heaven.
It is not about a denomination, it is all about Christ.
Prayers to Professor Hawking.
There went one prayer up for Stephen Hawking! God Bless the man genius.
Well said. Truth is truth.
Indeed. I pray that he will be ready when his time comes. I pray for Stephen Hawking.
I’ll prayer too....my husband’s cousin has ALS and Steven Hawking is an inspiration to this cousin and all ALS patients.......hope that one can live a long and accomplished life even with a terrible disease.
the truth be told, God doesn’t hold grudges....HE wants us all in heaven and accepts true acceptance of HIM even if its in our last breath......
That's a riot, I had no idea.
Prayers are never wasted.
^^Here’s one for Prof. Hawking^^

‘Went to an Alice Cooper concert a few years back. The audience was full of conservatives and bikers.
Actually I only said "Amen" after others made the same observation. I was bemoaning his belief that the world needs to submit to a single authority under the UN. The condition of his soul and yours, is none of my business. I will be profoundly sad when he dies if he does so out of Christ because the amount of time he will have spent here on Earth as a mortal is insignificant, even with all his accomplishments, if he loses his soul to an eternity of torment by an eternal separation from God.
One does not have to accept your particular flavor of religion to go to heaven.
Well, one day, we'll see which assertion is correct. But I want you to check out a website. Read it well. Surf around and then keep it in a favorites folder. One day soon there might be a cataclysmic event that will shake the world and it will literally happen in the blink of an eye. If it happens before you or I shuffle off this mortal coil, think back to this day and go visit the site again, for it will hold the key to your very survival over the following seven years. RAPTURE READY?
Talk about his great discoveries and how that intellect will be gone when he dies, not if hes been saved.
I don't care much for his discoveries, because whatever he "discovered," God already made. I worry about his ability to influence unsuspecting & innocent minds into embracing a society (One World Government) that holds unspeakable evil and inevitable doom for all mankind that is unsaved. Because the God of the universe also holds to the concept of free will and many will be deceived even unto eternal damnation. This life on Earth is a test and it's pass/fail. Speaking in terms of salvation: Better a year too early than a second too late.
Let me ask you a few questions: Do you accept that you have an immortal soul? Your earthly body will wither and die but you will go on? If this is true, exactly where will you spend eternity? Because the reality of Christianity is simply this: The whole thing rises or falls on the Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Either it's all a lie (making it the biggest hoax in the history of the world) or it's ALL true, every last word.
If it's true then you personally have some decisions to make. Whether any of this is important to you can be answered by you alone. It's not my business. MY business is the state of my soul and I'm liking that position more and more every day as I literally witness Bible prophesy come to pass.
Take the great "secular" prognosticians like Edgar Cayce or Nostradamus. They have won huge fans for their "accuracy" but the reality is that they have only about a 40% rate of accuracy and you can get that good by flipping coins. So far, the Bible has been 100% SPOT ON correct and over the two thousand years since Jesus walked out of that tomb that's an enviable and undeniable record.
There was a book I remember reading years ago in which Dr. Hawking was a semi-main character, and the main character kept jumping through alternate universes and Dr. Hawking was a super-crime-fighter imbued with special abilities after an experimental treatment for his ALS.
Eventually, he jumped back to another universe that had Dr. Hawking back in his chair and all seemed well. Until he mentioned the name of the town they were in, and it wasn’t that name after all, but a German name.
I hope he’s better soon.
I remember that Star TNG episode where he play cards with Data Sir Issac Newton forgot other dude
I think I remember something like that, wasn’t Gunga Din or was it Kubla Khan there too? ;-)

Stephen Hawking Expected to Make Full Recovery
* By Mark Hachman - ExtremeTech - Tue Apr 21, 2009 8:21AM EDT
Physicist Stephen Hawking is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement printed on his Web site.
“Professor Hawking is being kept in for observation at Addenbrooke’s hospital this morning,” the Hawking.org Web site states. “He is comfortable and his family is looking forward to him making a full recovery.”
Yes I pray it becomes clear to him that his chains in this mortal life need only be a temporary affair.
As C. S. Lewis commented to the effect, the closer the science is to the “real life” that Satan wants to use as a distraction, the harder the case. A sociologist would be a harder case than a mathematician or physicist.
Most of us couldn’t care less about flavors, just about a Person who would sooner be your Friend than your Enemy but will not literally force Himself down your throat. Even the greatest mind in this mortal coil cannot conceive of the glories of heaven.
