Obama’s orientation is basically antithetical to traditional American values. He envies the power and control of Chavez, Castro, Kim Il Jung, etc.

Not so sure that’s the case. I’d guess his real goal isn’t power so much as pursuit of a socialist ideology. Power is only a necessary means to an end. He only wants to help us (and if that thought doesn’t send shivers down your spine, nothing will). He’s a true believer IMHO.
I think he is still trying to purge himself of his mother’s white blood by attacking America. Ever since I read his book, I’ve thought he was the most psychologically screwed up person ever nominated by a major party.
He apologizes everywhere for anything because he needs to rid himself of his screwed up Mom - and he associates America with her.
