Not so sure that’s the case. I’d guess his real goal isn’t power so much as pursuit of a socialist ideology. Power is only a necessary means to an end. He only wants to help us (and if that thought doesn’t send shivers down your spine, nothing will). He’s a true believer IMHO.

I have never seen evidence that he has feelings for anyone, nevermind the great unwashed. He can act warmly with his wife and children, but his core is cold as ice.
Where are his lifelong friends standing beside him in his new position? Where are the testimonies of what a great guy he is from people other than ACORN agents?
His narcissism is pathological, but apparently not a handicap to reaching the Oval Office, given the total denial of the press corps
