Outside of the grenade fuse, it sounds like this guy was following the rules.

I guess we can now expect that they will be doing secondary searches on all military people.

A US Marine was arrested today at Logan International Airport after federal airport screeners discovered a gun, bomb-making materials, and ammunition in his checked baggage... Seems pretty stupid if true, but if it was in his checked baggage he wasn't going to be using it while on the plane.

I question the timing. I say he was set up... either that or one stupid marine, or taking one for HIS team.
To: McGruff
I dont know what the regs are on the stuff besides guns and ammo.
He was following the rules fir checked firearms and ammo.
The airport screwed up.

“...discovered the following items in his checked baggage: a locked handgun box containing a semi-automatic handgun, a fully loaded gun magazine, several boxes of 9 mm and 7.62 mm ammunition, three model rocket engines containing an explosive mixture (model rocket fuel), military pull-type fuses, switches, electronics kit boxes with various components, and a hand grenade fuse assembly with detonator.”
This sounds pretty innocent to me. The pistol was not loaded. But he failed to declare it. Napolitano will try to make this poor sap out to be a probable domestic terrorist and underline the DHS perceived need for close scrutiny of our Soldiers and Marines. This kid needs a good attorney.
