"1. BHO wouldn’t authorize the DEVGRU/NSWC SEAL teams to the scene for 36 hours going against OSC (on scene commander) recommendation.
2. Once they arrived, BHO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent” danger
3. The first time the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction
4. When the navy RIB came under fire as it approached with supplies, no fire was returned due to ROE restrictions. As the raggies were shooting at the RIB, they were exposed and the SEALS had them all dialed in.
5. BHO specifically denied two rescue plans developed by the Bainbridge CPN and SEAL teams.
6. Bainbridge CPN and SEAL team CDR finally decide they have the OpArea and OSC authority to solely determine risk to hostage. 4 hours later, 3 dead raggies
7. BHO immediately claims credit for his “daring and decisive” behaviour. As usual with him, it’s BS."

If that aid is towards a government that will enable it to become powerful enough to exert its authority over the whole country and impose law and order, it would be well worth it, because that is the root of the whole problem. The only other solution would be to invade and occupy Somalia and impose it on them, which ended in tears last time as I recall....

Somalia is in Africa, tho’ — I can’t think of too many African countries where sending aid wouldn’t result in the leader’s Swiss Bank Account getting fatter and the people getting more and more oppressed. Mali perhaps: it seems to be one of the very, very few stable African governments. Too bad it’s on the wrong side of the continent to do any good for Somalia.

IMO America should colonize Somalia, before China does.

In most african countries were the leader was a banana president with a swiss bank account there is at least some semblance of law and order, and they don’t allow gangs of pirates to occupy their ports and raid international shipping at will. Somalia is total a basket case, and at this point, just about any government is better than none....

My God, I am almost speechless anymore. This Obama thing is just awful, so awful.

The sad part is that this mess was entirely predictable, which is why some of us tried so hard to get Zer0 declared ineligible right off the bat. I sincerely hope that the FReepers who were so exercised about “birthers” and “tin-foil hat wing-nuts” now grasp why we tried—and are trying—to get rid of the usurper and his destructive intentions.
