The big business/big government axis of evil
RenewAmerica.Us ^ | 4/15/2009 | Chuck Baldwin

Posted on 04/17/2009 5:46:25 PM PDT by ReformationFan

Self-proclaimed "conservatives" love to tout themselves as ardent supporters of the "free enterprise" system. In the name of "capitalism," they support any and every piece of legislation or governmental decision that caters to business — especially Big Business. Favorite policies of these folks include anything and everything that calls itself "free trade." Furthermore, these same "conservatives" will support just about anything and everything that is said to advance the so-called "global economy."

Needless to say, in the name of "free trade" millions of American jobs and thousands of American manufacturing plants have been outsourced to foreign countries and interests. And leading the charge for "free trade," outsourcing, and the "global economy" is the international cabal known as Big Business. But Big Business does not play this game alone. Joining Big Business is its pernicious partner, Big Government.

Together, Big Business and Big Government form a tyrannical tandem that is squeezing the breath out of our once-great republic. In fact, people need to understand that what is passing for "capitalism" in America today is nothing more than "Corporatism."

Corporatism has little to do with genuine capitalism or free enterprise. Freedom and federalism thrive when true capitalism and free enterprise are at work. But Corporatism has nothing to do with freedom and everything to do with tyranny.

Corporatism is the marriage of Big Business with Big Government. Corporatism uses the force and weight of government to create giant monopolies, which strangle competition and freedom. Rules and regulations are enacted that make it impossible for "little" guys to compete. The trade laws of nations are pitted against each other, forcing free nations to sacrifice their own peace and security to accommodate the economies of totalitarian regimes. And, of course, Big Business is the recipient of gargantuan profits in the process.

Here’s an editorial that thinks outside the political box.

Please understand that the movers and shakers of Big Business have no national loyalty. They claim no country, salute no flag, and recognize no independence but their own. They are the travel companions of the bloodiest butchers on the planet. They have homes in every corner of the globe and are happy to share the beds of the vilest people on earth. They would gladly sell the heart and soul of America to the highest bidder, and have long ago sold their own hearts and souls to the devil.

And there is no limit to how intimately Big Business and Big Government can collaborate to steal people's liberties. A classic case in point is the burgeoning effort to control and regulate private, homegrown gardens.

This is exactly what is being used against the Conservatives and what conservatives are pushing as class warfare. Politicians on both sides of the aisle are guilty when it comes to big business because they rely on them for campaign contributions. Whatever happened to monopolies?

Yeah, use the rhetoric of the far left to advance “true” conservatism. Right.

Well...this kinda allied to the subject...sorta. Yeah, all hands agree that big gubmint ain't good. Me too. And gubmint's in bed w/big business and some others we don't even suspect yet, I'll bet. Let's suppose, for a minute or two, we actually got rid of the big gubmint basterds! Am I the only one that can foresee that whatever the feds are forced to give up that--maybe much more/worse would be seized by the states, counties, butchers, bakers, every mammy-jammer in the woodpile? And, if so, why go to the trouble.

The Bush’s FDA use of preemption to stop state consumer protection laws comes to mind in its anti 10 amendment glory.

Them that owns the legislators makes the rules - and them’s big business and big government, whether Republocrat or Demican.

Nice summary by Baldwin with the telling example of the FSA.

Economies of scale and scope are fine, as are the triumphs of a better product or better marketing, but get the government out of it.

“Do you have a permit for that tomato? Did it cross state lines?”

"In the face of a growing recession, thousands of people across America are planting and growing their own gardens. And this is not lost to Corporatism. Remember, Corporatism's great goal is to create monopolies and crush freedom, leaving the cabal controlling both Big Business and Big Government alone atop the world of prosperity and power. Therefore, it will use every tool at its disposal to protect any and all of Corporatism's favored players. And when it comes to America's food supply, Big Agriculture is that favored player.

Even as Michelle Obama plants a White House garden and encourages Americans everywhere to do the same thing, her husband is creating a brand new tool for the Big Business/Big Government powerbrokers: a new "Food Safety Administration" (FSA).

At the same time, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Connecticut) has introduced H.R. 875 to "protect the public health." But it is not the public health that Ms. DeLauro wants to protect. It is the health of the demonic duo of Big Business and Big Government. Two other bills with similar machinations are S. 425, introduced by Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), and H.R. 815, submitted by Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado).

In a nutshell, when these bills become law, every homegrown garden in the country will be regulated, inspected, controlled, and taxed by the federal government. (No, I am not making it up.) In addition, small, independent farms would most certainly be put out of business. In effect, the great Nanny State is posturing itself to completely take over the food business in America."

Ping!!!

Nothing new about alliances between “Big Government” and “Big Business”. In another time and place, it was called “mercantilism.”

As gunnyg points out some of the worst offenders of govenment out of control is state and local. That was what the Courts & Supreme Court were to protect us from. But the Rule of Law is being dismantled as well.

This article describes the economic fascism that’s been developed over the last 5 years or so. The Bush admin set the table, now the Dems are shoveling it down our throats.

For those Freepers who don’t know, fascism is government control of business for the purposes of government. Example- Obama firing the CEO of GM last week. (Those bailout funds come with strings attached...)

...I have no heroes and I've never been a "fan" addict. but, I did admire Barry Goldwater, partly because my father supported him in 64. In 68, I turned 16 and became politically aware. My dad voted republican and we got Nixon. In 72, I joined the libertarian party and my father disowned me...

...The libertarians have been shouting this point for years, and I agree. Small business and limited federal government are the answers to repairing our Republic...

...Thanks for the soapbox, bam. And the ping...

“Like you, I am not for sale.” Sarah Palin, from last weekend’s speech in Indianola, Iowa)

She wants to end corporate crony capitalism, where the gov’t elites do the secret handshake with big business and money launder our tax dollars to the benefit of everyone but the taxpayer.

I recommend everyone rent “Sarah Palin, The Undefeated” and see the details of what she did to clean up crony capitalism in Alaska.

This is why she is villified by the left and the RINO right. They both know they are doing wrong and she wants to end it.

Even those who scoff at Palin, please rent this on your Dish or cable provider. It is playing now.

She is the only one who will address this core problem.

NOTE: Yes, I DO know she has not yet announced.
She is doing that to save her supporter’s
hard earned money, so we don’t give to her
campaign just to have it be pissed away defending
the expected escalated attacks. She will announce
when it is time. She is not playing by the old rules.
No facing liberal inquisitors at circus like debates.
Not yet. When the time is right. Then we turn and
fight for America with all we have. Until then, she is
in the game without announcing and spending precious
resources.

Everytime something like this happens, regulatory czar who is busy, busy, all these czars, this new FSA department I once again ask, can the next President unravel all this? They all campaign on it, but can an entire regulatory department be shut down and thousands of fed gov workers be layed off, who has the guts to bring a hatchet and make cuts?

Can you see the FSA director or one of his city slicker minions coming onto my private property farm out in the middle of nowhere wanting to inspect my cucumbers and tomatoes? If I refuse will they come back with a swat team?
