True Delores is played by a competent actress. The Secretary of Homeland Security is not. She is the equivalent of the star of a failed off Broadway, off Broadway show.
I found the Harry Potter novels featured doing what is right,even at risk of displeasing authority.And those who saw the evil had not only to fight that evil but the stubborn refusal of many to admit that evil exists.
