The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran's nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government.
Among the steps taken to ready Israeli forces for what would be a risky raid requiring pinpoint aerial strikes are the acquisition of three Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft and regional missions to simulate the attack.

Israel wants to know that if its forces were given the green light they could strike at Iran in a matter of days, even hours. They are making preparations on every level for this eventuality. The message to Iran is that the threat is not just words, one senior defence official told The Times.
Officials believe that Israel could be required to hit more than a dozen targets, including moving convoys. The sites include Natanz, where thousands of centrifuges produce enriched uranium; Esfahan, where 250 tonnes of gas is stored in tunnels; and Arak, where a heavy water reactor produces plutonium.
The distance from Israel to at least one of the sites is more than 870 miles, a distance that the Israeli force practised covering in a training exercise last year that involved F15 and F16 jets, helicopters and refuelling tankers.
The possible Israeli strike on Iran has drawn comparisons to its attack on the Osirak nuclear facility near Baghdad in 1981. That strike, which destroyed the facility in under 100 seconds, was completed without Israeli losses and checked Iraqi ambitions for a nuclear weapons programme.
We would not make the threat [against Iran] without the force to back it. There has been a recent move, a number of on-the-ground preparations, that indicate Israel's willingness to act, said another official from Israel's intelligence community.

Godspeed Israel.. Godspeed.
My sentiments exactly.
GO ISRAEL!!!
Agreed on God’s speed and protection.
Game on! Get on board.
Israel, doing the jobs we won’t do since what? 1967?
Isreal knows that she has to strike and strike soon. With Nobama busy apologizing to the world on virtually a daily basis and redefining our lexicon to appease our enemies, Israel will do it alone.
We can. Retaliation against other gulf states will be more dicey. Saudis, UAE and Qatar are setting up Patriot installations as we speak.
Methinks the world needs to be rocked, and if Israel has to do it by itself, so be it.
When Israel took out Iraq's Osirik reactor in 1981, NO ONE saw it coming. This time we know and presumably have different contingencies in place.
If Obama tells Israel no, doesn't that mean our forces in Iraq have to shoot down Israeli jets if they pass over occupied territory? Can Israel attack from Indian soil? It can be done (see map below).
If Obama tells Israel no, doesn’t that mean our forces in Iraq have to shoot down Israeli jets if they pass over occupied territory?
___________
They wouldn’t dare. If they do it will set off a war here.
They could go over Turkey rather than over Iraqi airspace.
If Nobama gave an order to US Forces to actually SHOOT DOWN an Israeli aircraft, Sen Lieberman would call for his impeachment. Seriously.
Not only that, but I think most - if not all - military commanders would go out of their way to “not understand” the command.
“Unable to copy... Please repeat. Over.”
Direct your inner powers to help guilde Israel to victory.
Obama will side with Iran, no doubt.
And I will not support an America that turns it’s back on Isreal. It’s against my religion.
That’s when they’d have to be REALLY scared of right wing extremism.
Time to get some.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
