"After losing his 3rd run for Congress, Tennessean Davey Crockett delivered the shortest concession speech in history: Yall can go to hell. Im going to Texas. We all know what happened at the Alamo."
The order of the statement was reversed, if I recall correctly, "As for me, I'm going to Texas... as for y'all, you can go to hell." He was a Whig who had had enough of Democrats. We're all sympathetic to that.

A great book. You're the only Freepers I know who've read it.
Let's find out what the rest of FReeperdom thinks about it.

Should Texas Secede? Secede? Hell no, we should push the Blue states out. They are the ones violating the Constitution, they are one's cooperating with the violation of the 10th amendment. They are the one's electing those who pretty much blow off the Constitution.
No, we should not leave the Union, we should make THEM leave it. They already have in spirit.

If Texas becomes a country, Im moving out of the lousy state of New York. By then it will be TOO LATE. The borders will be closed. We can't have any illegal wetbacks swimming the Red or Sabine rivers. :) Or timberbacks trying to sneak through the Big Thicket, a person could get himself shot trying that.
Better come on down now. Bring money, gold is good, silver would be OK, and Guns.

Just imagine, if Obama wins in 2012 conservatives will threaten to move to Texas!
Heck, I’m thinking of moving there after I get out of college....

Thing is, if Texas were to secede, would they allow unbridled immigration from the U.S., Mexico? Or any where else.
Were I in charge of Texas lase then there would be no strings for Scandinavian ladies.

Texas cannot secede from the Union. What they can do is break into five states per the treaty and then get kicked out because the Senate will never allow ten new senators from Texas to be seated.
So where is 0 57th State?

Result: a land with no liberals! And a boatload of illegal aliens. I, for one, have no qualms about putting hundreds of miles between me and the Mexican border.

The wall that would be built on the North side of the Rio Grande would only be exceeded by the one we will need across all the other borders we have - we will need something big to keep the multitudes who will wish to come this way from other states.
