Another quote from the treaty reads p. 13, number 6: "To request the Secretariat pro tempore of the Consultative Committee of the CIFTA to participate actively in the United Nations Conference to review the progress made in implementation of the United Nations Programme of Action to prevent, combat, and eradicate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons in all its aspects, ..."
Quote three, p. 13, number 7: "To request the General Secretariat continue its work with the United Nations Department for Disarmament Affairs (DDA),...to prepare and offer, specialized courses in the destruction of small arms, light weapons, and ammunition, and in stockpile management."
So I gather that if the U.S. Senate ratifies this treaty, the United States will be automatically be under United Nations Gun Contol Measures. I could be totally wrong, but that is how I am reading it. Please share your thoughts. Thanks. http://scm.oas.org/doc_public/ENGLISH/HIST_06/CP16317E04.doc http://www.oas.org/csh/english/firearms.asp
This explains all the Obama admin weenies insisting that they had no plans for bringing up gun control legislation. Instead, he plans to put us under the auspices the UN and subject to their gun confiscation policies.
I agree with Obama and that mexican guy.. Seal off the border and prevent anything from getting across, besides through the actual border crossing points.
Then, after we end illicit traffic, drugs, people from coming north and our money from going south, we can move from there.
My solution sounds fair, why drag the UN into it. I’m sure they have plenty of strongly worded letters to write.
Thanks for doing the research on this.
"... due to the harmful effects of these activities on the security of each state ..."
Yep, the state, not the people come first for them.
iirc, an unconstitutional treaty is not valid...
under our constitutional gubment... so elected entities vowing to uphold our constitutional rights who try to usurp those rights... should be tried in a court and jailed.

Note WaPo changed the article title AND deleted the part they had about the NRA being involved in CIFTA hearings (sic). I remember it, NRA complained about it, and WaPo changed the damn article. Now a lib I converse with on another sitye says NRA is lying, when it is Obama/Clinton/WaPo people do so.
In case you missed it, William Bennett this morning on CNN made the statement that Obama’s claim of 90 percent of guns reaching the Cartels in Mexico is bunk - the reality is that of the guns that have been recovered from these drug cartels the Mexican authorities claim 90 percent of the guns with registration numbers come from the U.S. - but this number is only 10 to 15 percent of the total number of guns that have been recovered. Most of the guns being purchased by these drug cartels come from the world market and not from the U.S. That makes sense, given the degree of gun control placed upon gun dealers in this country. If it were 90 percent of all the guns sold to these cartels came from the U.S., then were are the massive raids being conducted by the ATF, FBI, and DEA upon suspected gun dealers in the U.S. who are selling these guns????? There are no massive raids because most of these guns are not coming from this country and the Obama admin is lying.
that would be 100% unconstitutional to allow them to regulate our arms in any way shape or form, even in policy decisions let alone destruction.
it would spark a revolution in a heartbeat.
