This is great. The tea parties would have been so much larger, had we longer-hours workers been able to close shop and go. A holiday, especially one so patriotic, is perfect.

My business will be closed on Independence Day, so I can join into this one!

I hope that all the tea parties will be held at each state capitol building this time. It might be a hike for some, however, the message NEEDS to be overwhelming and visible. You can’t get the media coverage for each individual event and there were THOUSANDS of them. We could charter busses if needed for transportation, and I am sure we can get them at a reasonable rate. It would also cut down on the massive gridlock that would inevitably result. I hope the organizers will take that into consideration, as the sacrifice would be small for an effect so great, and it would certainly be less inconvenient than our brave revolutionary troops endured at Valley Forge. I think we can handle that.......

I’m really glad to see the momentum carrying forward to the next round of tea parties, but I must say that July 4th may not be the best date we could have chosen, for a few reasons.

First of all, July the 4th is about ten weeks away. That’s a long time to keep the momentum of the movement from eroding.

Secondly, the tea parties are naturally going to conflict with all of the Independence Day celebrations occurring on that day.

Lastly, the heat factor is going to diminish attendance in most of the Southwest. A human body can’t withstand several hours of summer daytime temps, in most of the Southwest.

If we must have the next round on Independence Day, then I suppose that the Southwest will generally have to schedule their events for the evening hours. July 4th falls on a Saturday this year, which is helpful.

At one time there was talk about trying to tie a DC tea party to the Gathering of Eagles on June 13. I thought (although it is Sunday) June 14th was an interesting date because it is Flag Day.

July 3rd, after work hours is when the next event should be. It is a Friday night before the 4th. This will allow us working folk to get off work and still spend the 4th with our family and friends.

I think the fact they had these during the work hours greatly reduced the number of heads that were able to make it.

Good find!

Agree. This would be a good next step.

You know a lot of people travel on the 4th, is this really the best date? It will be spun by the MSM as 'everyday 4th of July celebrations" with a few sore-heads thrown in. Many of the 'spaces' in front of capitals are probably already spoken for. Still I like the general idea.

Just show up, who cares who else is there. I am over asking for permission to stand on public ground and peacefully assemble to air my grievences against my government. I think that travel plans may be difficult, but living under this regime will be more difficult in the long run, then postponing a vacation for one day, or protesting at the location you are visiting. People need to wake up, and I think these tea parties were a good start. I have no doubt that the founding fathers and those other patriots were inconvenienced by trying to survive in a wilderness they were attempting to tame. I think we can do this, or imho, we deserve what we get. Its time to take responsibility for our country, our freedoms, and our futures. If someone can’t make it cause they want to go on vacation, well, I guess I will have to stand on the wall for both of us that day, and hope millions of other patriots will be right behind me......

Well said. Nothing worth having is free (including health care).

June may be too early for a major DC rally, due to the fact that the pressure hasn’t quite hit the boiling point.

I think we need to continue building the movement with the nationwide tea parties, gathering force and momentum in every state, and cities all over the country.

One group already has a DC march planned for September. I’d like to see this movement build steam throughout the summer, and focus it’s gathered energy at the September rally in DC.

Here’s a link to that protest: http://www.freedomsfirst.org/

Great pic there. It’ll likely become an icon of the movement to stop this tyrannical government.

See you in DC!

I hope the one we have will also have a cookoff event, like some chili, ribs, sausage. Its got to be an all day event and people will need refreshments. Iced tea?
