After the thousands of successful Tea Parties, many are asking, "Where do we go from here?" For if there is no follow-on, we have accomplished nothing. Here are my thoughts on what is needed:
1. We need to capture the attention of the MSM and the general public, we need a symbol, a slogan, an action, or something that is catchy enough to be newsworthy. I solicit suggestions on this thread.
2. We need organization and a plan. I've heard of Tea Parties on Memorial Day and July Fourth. These are good ideas, but they are too are in the future; the movement will die if there is nothing going on for more than two weeks at a time. I solicit suggestions in this thread.
3. We need some central leadership, a national figurehead. IMHO, Limbaugh and Beck have too much baggage. There is not a single national politician I trust. I solicit suggestions in this thread.
Let's use the medium of Free Republic to try to make something effective out of this great start. Let's bring about Change we can believe in!
Has anyone heard a total count of attendees from yesterday?
1. No more bailouts! No more taxes! Join our cause and kick their asses!!!
How about this - every single person who attended a Tea Party should contact all their government representatives - federal, state and local, whether Democrat or Republican- and calmly and respectfully convey their frustration with their government becoming totally out of control and drunk with power.
The contact should be either a phone call or personal visit (emails are too easily dismissed)
The polite message should be this- we are watching you and will remember. Party affiliation does not matter any more.
This is just the start of: GET YOU DAMN HAND OUT OF MY WALLET!
I think it is really hard to come up with a head count since there were so many parties big and small all over the country.

A Freeper is working on it here, but MANY protests are still missing. I’ve come up with approximately 17,500 attendees missing from the list from KS alone. Those are just the major protests in Topeka (1500), Hutchison (atleast 2,000), Wichita (4,000), and Overland Park (10,000).
I think it would be safe to say atleast 500,000 attended protests (and probably more)!
The T.E.A. Parties were a HUGE success! It is a shame that the media is dismissing them and worse deriding them.
WOW! I LIKE IT!!! :)

Is there a way to unite the major websites onto one and make a “register” of us? Then we become a de-facto PAC...
That should be your tagline!
While a good idea to keep contacts with each other through FreeRepublic, bear in mind that we are monitored here by the left and even emails are intercepted by government.
Low tech might be a strong consideration as well
Start a 3rd party for the middle class.
Not at all. We are not thieves conspiring in the dark. We are American citizens peaceably assembling. If the government has a problem with that; BRING IT ON.
It’s not hiding in the dark to keep your opposition out of the loop in everything you do.
Did we want the Nazi’s to know the date, time and location of D-Day?
Starve the Beast...time for “Operation Thrift”...put off large purchases, work less overtime, do anything legally possible to keep your money out of the treasury......
We need a slogan, and some type of participation (such as a boycott) that doesn't include outdoor activities in the summer. A swim in is out of the question, ha!
Please follow-up privately with me as things progress. I might be interested in helping where possible.
Next time, show up with real pitchforks and torches.
A Million Tax Payer March with a huge petition for Congress on tax reform and no pork. The Pitchfork Parade and weenie roast. Forth of July sounds good or maybe another day. March on Washington with a rally that will shake Congress and the White House. WE MUST LET THEM KNOW WE WILL NOT FORGET TAX DAY next election!
