Uhm, you mean on 2008 taxes?
Means the withholding estimates were high compared to actual earnings. Which is not surprising being that many families lost on investments, and had spouses lose jobs and so forth, which put them in lower income brackets.
Not that its Obama's fault the economy was poor before he got in the white house. But the fact that the poor economy resulted in lower taxes than expected for families, that year, has nothing at all to do with Obama's policies.
Lo, once again Obama demonstrates he is a dishonest propagandist.
“...rather than simply giving more...”

This is the problem, and obama doesn’t understand it. It’s not the government’s job to GIVE money to the poor, the middle class, or the wealthy. Seems like a Constitutional scholar would understand this.
I don't think Obama is an idiot. But I think he thinks that we are.
How can it be a tax cut, when we still owe taxes on it? A cut in the withholding perhaps...
I've already had my payroll people make my withholdings what they were prior to the grand cut. That way I won't be surprised come tax time NEXT year.
RS
Go figure, eh?
Yepper, next April 15....
$8 a week? Wow you’re amazing, half-black Jesus.
I can't get through to people on this!!! It's frustrating the level of ignorance people have about the taxes they pay. That $13.00/week will end up leaving you with either a smaller refund or worst case having to pay when you're expecting a refund. An even lesser known fact is that that $7000 tax incentive for first time home buyers will need to be paid back to the gvt to the tune of $500/yr for the next 14 years!!! Zero's playing us for suckers with this income tax 3 card monte game.
If you look at the current tax tables, you’ll see that there was no tax cut. We’re going to pay for the “increase” next tax season. The President is LYING.
The Nov. 5 edition of USA Today states that, in their exit poll, 63% said that the economy was their most important issue. Among that group, 54% voted for Obama. If they really cared about the economy, they shouldn’t have voted for the candidate who promised that he would propose tax rate increases. Increasing tax rates usually harms the economy.
I attended the Chicago Tea Party, and it was so crowded, I could barely move.
One question I continue to ask: Has Obama instituted tax rate cuts? NO. In fact, he has vowed to get rid of Bush Tax cuts, which means EVERYONE’s tax rate will go up.
How can Obama get away with this? MOST people getting money back don’t pay taxes; the others are simply getting less withheld. When the end of the tax year comes, the piper will have to be paid. The media OF COURSE continues to allow Obama to bastardize the word “tax cuts” since he is NOT cutting taxes but increasing them by getting rid of deductions and allowing the true tax cuts to increase.
Ding! You get the moment of clarity award for the day.
All they've done is screw with the withholding allowance....tax tables are exactly the same.
The good news is that - thanks to this withholding - a lot of the dumb masses will get hit with a tax bill, April 15th, 2010. Right in the middle of the mid-term elections season. :-)
Did Obama decry the use of taxes as a form of political
social engineering? NO.
Did Obama decry the use of taxes as a means to punish the
successful? No.
Did Obama decry the use of taxes as a means of buying
votes from those who are addicted to welfare and government
largess? NO!
We aren’t buying your propaganda Obama!
Off to the Tea Party!
Obama has no concept of economics. A tax cut is when the actual tax rate is reduced, let’s say from 17% to a 13% tax rate.
Obama has not reduced the tax rates. The money on the checks people are receiving is a “tax credit.” It is taxable Income. The way I understand it, that extra money will be taxed on your 2009 Income Tax return.
Thanks BO!
Got Cavuto on right now with a nation wide hookup to the Tea Parties...
The keyword is families - singles don’t seem to count.
Hey tom how can you be in two places at once.
I simply cannot afford any more of Barry’s “tax cuts”.
