Global Warming Is 'Very Real for Us,' Palin Says
Associated Press ^ | April 14, 2009 | Kim Murphy

(AP) — ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin acknowledged Tuesday that global warming was harming her state but said stepped-up natural-gas production could mitigate its effects.

Speaking at a hearing before Interior Secretary Ken Salazar -- the third of several he is holding to consider renewed oil and gas leasing on the Outer Continental Shelf -- Palin said that relatively clean-burning natural gas could supplant dirtier fuels and slow the discharge of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

"We Alaskans are living with the changes that you are observing in Washington," she said. "The dramatic decreases in the extent of summer sea ice, increased coastal erosion, melting of permafrost, decrease in alpine glaciers and overall ecosystem changes are very real to us."

Funny how you fail to highlight those parts where she gives the view that man is NOT to blame for it and leaving out entirely the part where she says that she is compromising with McCain.

Please go over to www.conservatives4palin.com and you will get the lowdown on what Sarah really said.

Remember who the source is. This is just another example of MSM disinformation.

I highlighted the parts that are disturbing. I highlighted the parts that she apparently uses to justify radical solutions to something that can't be solved. I highlighted the parts that give Obama and his liberals cover to implement the most destructive policies this nation has seen in a century, all with the (unwitting?) support of Republicans.

I don't think there is anything "funny" about it.

...and leaving out entirely the part where she says that she is compromising with McCain.

NO. I did not leave out any such thing as it does not exist. Anyone can check the link. The only thing I left off was the end of the questioning that dealt with ANWR -- a subject separate and apart from Global Warming and Cap and Trade.

I am not depending on the newspaper. I am quoting from her words from her entire statement from her web site.

I don't need someone else to spin it for me.

False. She said nothing about their "most credible models", regardless of how many times you repeat that lie.

No need to do that as it does not offer the full context. Most here have read her full statement [PDF file] as published on her AK gov website. The full excerpt from page 4 has been posted on this thread, a couple times.

"Meeting these goals will require a dramatic increase, in the very near term, to preferred available fuels - including natural gas – that have a very low carbon footprint and that can be used within the existing energy infrastructure."
ManBearPig would agree.

I wasn't looking to Couric -- I was quoting Sarah.

Yes, in an interview that was renowned for being grossly diced and sliced to suit the MSM's purposes.

How do you know what may have been sliced out that filled out and explained her words better? Same with Gibson.

And, it's been pointed out that she supported McCain's posisitons ad nauseum to you as any VP does yet you choose to continue to nitpick.

You're like one of those wind-up toys. You don't shut up but keep saying the same things over and over and over...

You can bet your bottom dollar that Sarah Palin knows the difference between Global Warming and Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW)....

Global Warming is true; Global Cooling is true; Anthropogenic Global Warming is not true...

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite *another* to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply *one* video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the *one*...

The following is an *excellent* video documentary on the so-called “Global Warming” I would recommend it to all FReepers. It’s a very well-made documentary.

“The Great Global Warming Swindle”

If you want to download it, via a BitTorrent site (using a BitTorrent client), you can get it at the following link.
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3635222/The_Great_Global_Warming_Swindle
[this is a high-quality copy, of about a gigabyte in size...]

It’s worth seeing and having for relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see.

Also, see it online here...
http://www.moviesfoundonline.com/great_global_warming_swindle.php
[this one is considerably lower quality, is a flash video and viewable online, of course...]

Buy it here...

[this one would be the very highest quality version, on a DVD disk, of several gigabytes in size...]

If you folks would ever answer direct questions, then I wouldn't need to repeat them.

Your continuing denial of her own words is stunning.

As to "shutting up" -- I have no intention of doing so as long as I continue to see people making things up instead of basing their posts on facts and logic. If that offends you, tough.

Don't be disingenuous.

I didn't deny her words. I stated that the contexts are in question.

You keep harping on less than a handful of gotcha interviews and ignore the vast majority of things she has said on the topic.

So typical and right in line with how the MSM operates.

On what basis? Because you don't like them? If the words posted as a transcript were incorrect, are you suggesting that no one would have ever challenged them and demanded a correction?

Does not compute.

You keep harping on less than a handful of gotcha interviews and ignore the vast majority of things she has said on the topic.

Not true. I have posted the actual transcripts of Sarah's words from every interview transcript I have found on addressing climate-change/global-warming and cap-and-trade and challenged those who have claimed that their are "long lists" of contrary statements to post them along with citations and links. They have not done so.

So, now is your chance: Please post the "majority of things she has said on the topic" of climate change and cap and trade along with sources and links.

Here is a full list of what "On the Issues" attributes to Palin on the subject of Global Warming:

• I do support capping carbon emissions. (Oct 2008)
• Cyclical temperature changes affect climate change. (Oct 2008)
• All-of-the-above approach to deal with climate change. (Oct 2008)
• Global warming affects Alaska, but is not man-made. (Aug 2008)
• Analyze potential costs associated with climate change. (Oct 2006)

On what basis? Because you don't like them?

On the basis that they were interviews given by some of the most rabid Palin-haters and tape was left on the CUTTING ROOM FLOOR as has been explained to you time and time again.

The list you make is quite short so easy to do. Go and do some research on Google and look at the innumerable times she has spoken out in FAVOR of energy development as opposed to cutbacks. That list would be vastly longer than yours and very difficult to do because it would involve innumerable pro-energy speeches. I'm really not interested in spending the long hours on you.

To suggest that Palin is an enviro is wacky and WAY out there. Really. You need to get smarter and quit citing Couric interviews as proofs. Sheesh.

The list you make is quite short so easy to do.

Then what explains your total failure to produce any contrary list or any substantive rebuttal of the several exact quotes provided?

Why has she lost your support?

Neither has she subscribed to the theory of “man made” warming (very different from real warming caused by the sun, cyclical changes etc.), nor has she changed her previous stance. (Why are you surprised?)

What part of transcript do you not understand?

The list you make is quite short so easy to do. Go and do some research on Google and look at the innumerable times she has spoken out in FAVOR of energy development as opposed to cutbacks.

The issue I am concerned with is massive government spending on non-viable energy sources (i.e. "all of the above approach") and Cap-and-trade.

I have googled it... and you've seen the results. If you have information to refute it, POST IT. Don't just sit there and whine "it's not true, it's not true."

To suggest that Palin is an enviro is wacky and WAY out there. Really. You need to get smarter and quit citing Couric interviews as proofs. Sheesh.

I didn't suggest she was wacky or way out there. I said she needs to be educated and she needs to OPPOSE cap-and-trade.

Do YOU support cap-and-trade?

I believe that anyone who supports GW will not veto Green taxes or carbon
fees toward energy companies. I can't see believing in this hoax
and supporting smaller Government.

If I'm wrong I'll correct my outlook.
