Right. The source document is a PDF file, not an HTML page.
I am not debating the benefits of the format, I am stating simply that linking directly to a pdf file is a bad idea - for numerous reasons.
You are entitled to your opinion. I do not happen to agree with it.
However if you think dropping a link to something that will stop most computers dead cold for 30-90 seconds if they don’t already have acrobat open is a good idea, then by all mean, be that guy.
Even with FR's "You have selected a link to an external website" intermission, the page opens in only 8 seconds on my three year old PC. If someone's PC is taking 90 seconds to open a PDF file, then there are other non-Acrobat issues involved.
“Portable Document Format”, When did they change PDF from printer definition file?
"PDF" stands for several different things, apparently. I've never known it to mean anything other than Portable Document Format, though.

According to Homeland Security’s Jingoistic Report , Sheriff Joe is a right wing extremist.
That should be enough to get Joe incarcerated in one of the
emergency holding FEMA camps originally designed for rounding up illegal aliens.

In my 30 years of crime fighting (now retired) I had the occasion to work with 5 separate Sheriff’s.
Not one of those Sheriff’s had the fortitude and honorable convictions of this guy.
I would have loved to had worked with him.
Should I ever make it down there, I am going to beg my way into his office just to shake his hand and grab a department patch. ;>)
