Hate to see it.
Journalists aren’t required to know English, dontcha know.
He was also asked how many times he could expect her [his wife] to bear the brunt of his behaviour, to which he responded: 'Boy, I don't know. Good question. I don't know the answer to it.'
I guess he just found out.
LOL!
Church law calls for the existence of a Tribunal in every diocese of the world. The Tribunal of the Diocese of Manchester is under the direction of the Bishop of Manchester and is supervised by his delegate, the judicial vicar. He, together with his judges and a staff of specially trained and experienced priests, religious and lay persons, offers assistance to those who request that the Church study a marriage in order to determine whether or not there is any possibility of a declaration of invalidity. The Tribunal then investigates the marriage, and on completion of their investigation, declares whether or not invalidity has been proved.
The Tribunal is, first and foremost, a court of law. The law we adjudicate is the canon law of the Catholic Church, which has as its foundation and its heart the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospel. The fundamental law of the Church is the commandment of Jesus to love God above all else and to love one another as ourselves. The procedural laws which govern Tribunals, exist primarily to protect the rights of all persons connected with a Tribunal case by providing a structured process of examining the issues and questions surrounding marriage and divorce.

Your question indicating not receiving Confirmation is a stumbling block also, check with the priest or the Diocese in your area.
He probably had very little in the way of assets when they married. Once they married she is entitled to 50/50, which is probably most of it anyway.
I cannot help but think he was a high profile target for the Enemy after the phenomenon that The Passion of the Christ was.
Best film ever made period.
That sounds very confusing and detailed. I wonder if he is aware of all those restrictins and if he really cares?
It’s not confusing at all if you’re Catholic. He knows what he can and can’t do.
This will cost a lot.
How sad.
His personal demons were just to much.
My diocese has day long seminars about annulments. They are very useful and give you the facts about the application, the process, and the overall situation. I HIGHLY recommend that you check with your diocese to see if they have something similar.

I don’t know why everyone is so hung up on the word Divorce. Did not God divorce Israel?
So you’re saying that God wouldn’t be welcome in the Church that supposedly bears His name.
Thanks, it would seem then, that he doesn’t really intend to remain a Catholic.
Isn't that 35/35/30? Lawyers always drag out divorces.

I can’t look into his heart or know his intentions. I haven’t heard that he plans to remarry at this time. And he can still remain a Catholic even if he does, he just can’t receive the sacraments. Catholics who are married outside the blessings of the Church can always come back to the Church. For instance, if Robyn Gibson would pre-decease Mel, he would be free to remarry in the Church. Committing a sin does not mean you denounce your Catholicism, but you must be in the state of grace to enter heaven. I take it you’re not Catholic or you would know this already.
Judging by his reported behavior with women other than his wife, it’s easy to guess that he won’t remain celibate.
No, I’m not Catholic, that is why I asked.
