So he waited four days before having to give the order twice? Was the Navy that stupid that the Messiah had to repeat himself?
And why is this even in the article? Does Obama give the order to the FBI anytime there is a hostage crises?
Sadly now he's trying to take the credit.

That's what I was thinking...what kind of commander even tolerates having to give the same order twice??? Maybe a poor one...
The mere fact that he has not denied makes me think of this as more a ‘stopped clock’ moment. Right twice a day. I’m very glad the way that turned out. Happy for the crew and their families.
I dont have the facts, so I will hold off judgement.
It’s funny...last week Mrs. Bill Clinton called them criminals. Doesn’t that mean they were due a trial? 0bama treated them like common terrorists...
Ok so ZERO grew pair.... jeez enuff
I don’t know of any President that wouldn’t have given the order to rescue a hostage if the opportunity warrant but usually they don’t need to do it twice.
When I read he gave the order twice,,, it seemed like an odd thing for the White House to put out there. What are they trying to say?? The military screwed up the first time??? The military didn’t move fast enough??? Obama was ahead of the military???
I’m wondering if the military under orders had to stand back,,(due to the fact the captain jumped out of the boat once already and the military did nothing) and after that,, the military just was ready and acted on there own and Obama then saved face!
I really think none of this is as the media says it is. Last week as I listened to radio news talk about the FBI negotiator, they were going on and on about how difficult hostage negotiations are and the need for experts in such matters. Another diss on the military. This did not go the way Obama had planned me thinks!
This is curious. Were the orders situational, that is for that specific situation? Was the first order unclear or just good for an hour? Why would you need two separate orders? It seems like having to get top level approval for military action is unwieldy if there is a lot going on. There is a lot going on in the offices of the White House. Let's talk about micro management!

Seems to me the truth is that the Navy HAD TO ASK TWICE BECAUSE OBAMA DID NOT DELIVER THE FIRST TIME.
He did NOT give the “shoot to kill” order until AFTER Capt. Phillips jumped OVERBOARD and was RE-CARPTURED!!! BO did NOT let the Navy shoot the Pirates UNTIL AFTER!! He only ok’d it on FRIDAY NITE!!!
This report says something different

If the gave it twice, does that mean that he TOOK the first approval away?
Let us keep in mind that this is a relatively very easy problem compared to the other security issues that we are facing and we are going to face.
Al Qaeda terrorists, the Taliban terrorists, the Iranian terrorist regime, North Korean communist regime, and a host of other enemies are laughing because they know that Obama is the weakest President ever since it took him 5 days to resolve a hostage situation with the 3 ragtag pirates trapped in a tiny boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean surrounded by the mightiest fleet in history of man.
At the same time let us give our great thanks to the brave Captain and to the heroes of our military who freed him. If they were given the orders by Obama in the first day they would have saved him back then and not 5 days after.
Consider that it’s Jennifer Loven reporting (she’s always the first one he calls on at pressers), you can be sure Rahm gave her all the explicit talking points (especially since the outcome was good) to make sure that we, the American public, can rest safely now that our “CIC” is being portrayed to be soooo in command. Rubbish.
Go SEALS!!!!!
We’re going to “press charges” against the 4th “pirate”?
I want him hung and their boats reduced to splinters - NOW!
Why give the order twice ...didn’t he think the military would follow orders? I am reminded of the newspeak language word from Orwell’s 1984 ...doubleplus good.
For what it's worth, I posted the following on two threads yesterday and today:"During this afternoon's press conference, NBC Pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski asked specifically whether Obama had ordered the kill or whether the order was in line with long-standing orders all presidents followed.
"The response was immediate: The president did NOT give a special order to shoot but rather was following a time-honored custom of giving the ultimate authority to the military not only to determine whether an American was in "imminent danger" but also to use all necessary force.
"SO THERE, CNN and FOX!!! Stop peddling your romantic tales of heroism to extend to the WH tourist-in-chief!"
