House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, announced last week that she wants to register guns. Her next move will be to try to confiscate them.
The speaker picked a television show with a viewership of 4.6 million to float the Democrats' coming gun-control push. Questioned on ABC's "Good Morning America" about the prospect of new gun-control laws now that "it's a Democratic president, a Democratic House," she responded, "We don't want to take their guns away. We want them registered."
Politicians and bureaucrats routinely claim that registration helps solve crimes. If a registered gun is used in a crime and left at the crime scene, registration supposedly lets the police trace the gun back to the criminal. Though this turn of events might work on fictional TV crime shows, it virtually never occurs in real life. Criminals' guns are rarely left at crime scenes. When guns are left behind, it usually is because a crook has been seriously injured or killed and the police are poised to catch him anyway. . . . .

That discussion is completely irrelevant and immaterial.
I'd like Pelosi to point to the Article and Section of the US Constitution which authorizes Congress to legally mandate the registration of privately owned firearms.
Until she can do that, she can go straight to Hell.
I will not comply. Period.
L
Pelosi should register herself as the socialist that she is.
BTTT
Nancy, in a word, no. Wait, that’s too simple. H*LL NO!
Pelosi, stuff it.
Only three weeks ago, in my state, Michigan, I had to get a pistol purchase permit.
Then, you purchase the firearm, and there are four copies
of the purchase.
One stays with the seller, I get one, and the other two go
to the County Sheriff and the State.
I can’t think of what else they could do to make you
“Register”.
Now rifles, etc. are another thing, for now.
I have a pretty cool one on order.
Also, at one of the local gun dealers, they have a bad-ass
.50 cal for $3600.00.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a thousand acre ranch in Texas to try it out.
Is that you, Ted?
I’m on my way!
Any person that has lost the right to own firearms can not be prosecuted for not registering any firearm in their possession.
Haynes v. U.S. (1968)
You know what is odd?
I learned to shoot in Ca and shot way more in Ca with less restriction than here in Tx Now
They are putting us in a stranglehold of (deceptive) good intention
That's right. There are a lot of dems who won't get re-elected if they vote for this kind of crap. This is just posturing by Nazi Pelosi.
We’ll get BBQ L0L
We can tell Pelosi to put it to the task....while she is flying overhead on her broom, someone can take a pot shot at her. Then when she and her broom fall to the ground, then we can all look for the gun!
Come register them, then, from our cold dead hands
Yeah, every morning I open my computer to see somebody's been shot- usually more than one somebody.
More troubling than this notion of registration is the fact that an elected official could get the 2nd ammendment so wrong.
We need a law passed pronto that says: "If you back legislation or promote a policy that contradicts our Bill of Rights and Constitution in any way, and do so knowingly, you shall be immediately relieved of duty as a representative or senator and stripped of any salary and benefits that might accrue to active service in government.
I am amazed she is doing it! She knows it is a 3rd rail.
I still think it is good cop bad cop and Obama will reluctantly submit to the idea
As Cuban Colonel Bella said to his aide in "Red Dawn," "Obtain form 4473. These will show lists of private ownership."
Pelosi lives in a TV CSI world ....
Amen!
