I hope the citizens of South Carolina stop the General Assembly from the shark-like feeding frenzy of federal funds, which are really our seized tax dollars. Find out the facts. Gov. Mark Sanford has tried to reduce the non-necessary spending of our lawmakers. He has vetoed this pork every budget year and the legislature has consistently overridden his efforts to reduce spending.
South Carolina would be in a better fiscal situation if spending restraints had been made in the good times.
Now we are being threatened by our legislative leaders that if we dont take the federal funds, prisons will close, teachers will be laid off and law enforcement will suffer.
Senators and representatives should stop threatening us. They are the cause of this budget crisis in South Carolina just like Congress is responsible for the national crisis. I agree with Gov. Sanford that if we take the money, we use it to offset the bad spending policies of our state legislature.
Voters should remember in November 2010 the threats issued by our legislature. They were elected to represent the people, not rule them.

***They were elected to represent the people, not rule them.***
A minor hitch... but since when did any oath of office stop a politician from doing what he wants.
Great description!
Ultimately, all taxpayers will lose. The only people who will win are greedy bankers. They get paid every time a bogus bill is printed. And they get paid with interest. This is the ultimate Ponzi scheme. And its being promoted by our government. Corruption simply yields more corruption.
Just click the image and wake up . . .
OK, is he or isn’t he?
One moment I hear that Sanford caved and is going to take the stimulus money.
The next moment, I hear that he’s standing firm against the stimulus money.
So, which is it?
