It all matters to be POTUS, and it also dramatically explains his bizzaro attitude and lack of American patriotism.
Just sayin'...
Prior to 1964 that would not necessarily be the case. This issue has been debated ad nauseam on other threads already.
You haven’t been paying attention. Apparently, and I don’t remember the exact requirements, but his mother wasn’t old enough to confer automatic citizenship - there is a rule that specifies the criteria.
Besides, he still wasn’t born on US soil....so not a natural born citizen.
Furthermore, he might have dual citizenship - the other being Indonesia.
Too many problems and that’s before even getting into is ideology.
I believe the Constitution indicates that a president of the United States must be born on US soil. I dont care if his parents were born in the US, if the child is born on soil not part of the US, he is not eligible to be our president.
A president of the United States must be a “Natural born citizen of the United States” per the constitution. What that means might be open to conjecture and may one day be clarified by the supreme court. Many think it means that you must be born in CONUS.
It matters a lot if he was born in Kenya. If born in Kenya it matters so much that Obama committed forgery to show he was born in Hawaii.
You are behind the curve on this issue.
“What does it matter where he was born? If his mother was a U.S. citizen, he is also, unless someone can show me otherwise.”
From what I’ve read there are questions about his mother’s age at the time he was born. His mother wasn’t a natural born citizen so she had to be over a certain age and lived in the US for a certain amount of time before the birth in order to confer citizenship on her offspring.
Also, you still have to register and request US citizenship for your offspring born outside the US. If they used fraud to bypass the redtape and/or to get around the age requirement, then he isn’t a US citizen.
“According to much legal research, at the time of Obama’s birth he could be a natural born citizen by being born in the United States, by being born to two U.S. citizen parents (not possible because of his father), or, if only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of the birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least 10 years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.
The problem is, Obama’s mother was only 18 when she gave birth, so his only apparent route to “natural born” citizenship status would have been to be born in Hawaii.”
The above was excerpted from this article: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=94535.
Actually, both is parents had to be U.S. citizens. Just the fact that his father was not a citizen makes him ineligible. That is besides the fact that he probably held dual citizenship, not to mention that he was adopted by his step father and no record (so far) that he ever legally changed his name back to Obama. He is ineligible on soooo many levels.
I think she would have had to have been resident in the US five years after her 18th birthday. I know that the wife of an American soldier stationed in Germany came without orders to live with him and gave birth to their child. She had a devil of a time getting her child a passport. Of course under German law, which is law of the blood, the child was not a German either. So the child was stateless. I think it required a private bill to get the child status. Either that or someone found a loophole. It was in the Stars and Stripes for some time. What complicates all this, though, is that Obama’s mother was married to an Indonesian citizen, and MAY have alienated herself. Did Obama ever hold an Indonesian passport? Lots of mysteries about this guy,
His mother would HAVE TO BE AGE 19, at the time of birth, to pass citizenship to her son.
This was the law at the time Obama was born.
There is argument about the meaning of the words “Natural Born Citizen” -— However, there is no doubt about the fact that, at the time of “Pres” Obama’s birth, his mother HAD TO BE 19, at the time of birth, to pass citizenship on to her son.
“What does it matter where he was born? If his mother was a U.S. citizen, he is also, unless someone can show me otherwise.”
She was under age and in Hawaii at that time didn’t qualify as a citizen which makes him a Kenyan!!!!
